It seems with the new rules it might be worth it but I am not sure, so I would like to hear your arguments for an against fielding a Dragon Mage of Caledor?

I havent seen it n play so far, it is sorta a win-lose (He's better but shooting/warmachines are also better) Because of the bump up to 3000 points however, I think it would be worth it due to that extra die he gets to cast. Give him the item that will let him know 3 spells or choose which spells he knows and he can be pretty good in play

I hate hard counters. In a game of rock, paper, scissors, I hate playing any of the factions because no matter what you choose you might as well not deploy against your hard counter. I want to use a gun. Rock, paper, and scissors could all probably still beat gun, but gun will never feel like a game is a lost cause.

The dragon mage got worse. Previously at least if he really wanted to go fight the dragon would kill everything in base reducing incoming attacks and hopefully breaking the unit. Now, not gonna happen and everyone will insta-gib the mage with return attacks.
