I just looked through the High Elf eratta. We keep ASF, even with great weapons and still get the re-roll if we have a higher initiative. That's good news. More dissapointing is that the "Elite Army" special rule only waives the duplicate unit restrictions. No other units are moved to core, so we're stuck with 1/4 army of archers, spear elves or LSG. Also Teclis and the book of Hoeth have been fixed so that the extra irresistable forces don't cause a misscast.

Forgive the question, as work has blocked GW's site...
Have army-specific lores pretty much been left untouched. The way the base lores have been restructured, I was wondering if a similar overhaul would happen to these.
thanks

I don't think the Elite Army rule is dissapointing, I mean you get to ignore the duplicate restriction and everything rerolls hits in cc anyway.
If it changed the points limits then it would mostly be Swordmasters throwing out 2 asf S5 attacks with rerolls per model. Rerolls against everything except DE and DoC iirc.

@Specs - they weren't really looking to make any large edits to the armies, just ammendments to bring them in line with the new rule-book.
All in all, the HE FAQs are pretty much as expected (and with most FAQs being copied from the previous FAQ), though I'm disappointed that some of our common magic items are still pricier than the BRB equivalent (Enchanted shield being the notable issue). Automatically Appended Next Post: Also: High Lore spells are unchanged as well. Looks like they just tidied up some of the more confusing wordings of some magic items to match the vocabulary of the new book.

Um....Executioner's Axe was effectively ASL before. They just changed the rule to match the current ruling.
Also, until it's _re_FAQ'd, no mention is made to whether or not Harpies are counted toward Core or not.
Seems like your mounts STILL gain the benefits of Eternal Hatred.

harpies dont count towards core, there was another errata that said something along the lines of if it doesnt count towards it now, it wont in 8th.

I imagine that'll be the case, but the current Errata doesn't say anything to that effect. Yet. Still, given the ruling on assassins, I can't imagine you can't argue precedence on the matter.

It seems like everything that was errata'd in 7th is now reversed.
Hags now Don't count as champions.
Drycha Now Doesn't keep attacks if she heals.
Magical bows now fire magical arrows when before they said no.
Just looks so weird

Don't forget that wildrider nobles can take helm of the hunt . It's just, what... 2 years late?? I'm still happy about it, though
The book of secrets makes a sorcerer a level 1 caster with single spell. So, obviously not worth taking on a sorcerer, just on a different hero.
Could you point out where the line about units not counting towards core in 7th applies in 8th? It doesn't affect me, but I was curious about it.

Ahhh... slaves can only achieve Ld 10 by using the general's Ld... For stubborn/steadfast they max out at 7.
Still nice, but not the awesome that Ld 10 steadfast clanrats will have.

Nope you are allowed to use the generals base leadership, then add your rank bonus to that before rolling the test.
The pdf said you cannot use the generals modified leadership that includes the rank bonus of the unit he is in.
