I was doing some reading and had a fun idea for a gambling game when times are slow at the
FLGS.
Stand-Off (otherwise known as Chicken)
Each player picks 1 core/troop model. They are placed facing each other. The story is that two entire armies have been nearly wiped out. All that's left is one of each of your guys, standing on an ever-important objective as meteors/orbital bombardments rain down all around them, destroying what little is left. Their job is to stand on the objective til the other guy runs.
Players take simultaneous turn rolling leadership using their base score and ignoring any special rules they may have. Each round adds a cumulative -1 penalty to each player's leadership. First one to to run away loses. Ante is the point cost of the model you are using, with additional side betting allowed as the game goes on.
The gimmick: You're allowed to cheat. Controlled rolls, rigged dice, whatever. You're also allowed to make noise about the other guy's luck, but you are NEVER allowed to accuse him of cheating. The alternate losing condition is that an unaffiliated third party approaches the table and accuses one of you of cheating. You can't ask another player directly if someone looks like they're cheating, but you can jeer or make comments ("Look at this guy! What the heck is that?") as obnoxiously as preferred. As turns go on and the required numbers get more ridiculous, the cheating has to become more skillful or more blatant. May the best cheat win
Anybody have any other gambling or alternate side games that can be played with
GW figs?
