So I've been tinkering around with this for a while and was wondering if anyone else has ever done this and what people think of it. What I do is I take a squad of pathfinders and another source of markerlights (drones, skyray, sniper teams, whatever) and I use the secondary markerlights to allow the pathfinders to hit better with their markerlights.

The math hammer is as follows assuming the secondary markerlights are already on (statistically will need double number of markerlights used unless sniper team or a t.array on skyray, which is only slightly better odds)

Pathfinder Squad Size=PSS
Number of Markerlights used from the pathfinders to increase BS=MU
Number of markerlights hit from the pathfinder squad =PM
Number of markerlighs Gained=MG

*note MG=(PM+MU)-Total Markerlights shot

PSS=4 | 4 | 4
MU=0 | 1 | 2
PM=2 | 2.3333 | 3.3333
MG=0 | -.6666 | -.6666

PSS=5 | 5 | 5
MU=0 | 1 | 2
PM=2.5 | 3.3333 | 4.1666
MG=0 | -.1666 | -.3333

PSS=6 | 6 | 6
MU=0 | 1 | 2
PM=3 | 4 | 5
MG=0 | 0 | 0

PSS=7 | 7 | 7
MU=0 | 1 | 2
PM=3.5 | 4.6666 | 5.8333
MG=0 | .3333 | .3333

PSS=8 | 8 | 8
MU=0 | 1 | 2
PM=4 | 5.3333 | 6.6666
MG=0 | .3333 | .6666

So at 4-5 pathfinders it's a determent, at 6 pathfinders it's even, and at 7 or 8 pathfinders you get a small bonus (either 1/3 or 2/3 extra markerlight hits). What do you guys think? Is using markerlights for pathfinders worth it? Or is it better to have that markerlight used on a different squad?

If Bruce Lee is advocate and does kick someone between the legs in a fight, why would I be to good to do it?

My fighting style: Hit em hard, hit em fast, hit em where it hurts, hit em where they can't see you or hit back.

It's funny how everyone wants their opponent list to be fun to play against and yet their own playlists are often tough as nails and impossible to modify.-Q'iq'el on ATT

I don't have my codex with me at work, but I'm pretty darn sure the codex specifically says you can't use markerlights to boost other markerlights
