I undercoated my marines with skull white spray and plan on painting them with snot green.
What color wash should I put over the green to darken the crevaces and such?
I don't know which would work better. D: black or green?

A thinned down black wash should do the trick. I'm not good with percentages on it though. I just add water to it until I think it looks like it will work and do another layer if I'm wrong.

The greater good needs some moo.

Well, you can go for various different effects.

Straight black will give you more of a comic book look, with black lining.

Where as a mixture of black and green will give a more natural effect. Try mixing varying degrees of black, green, and water for a more gradiented effect.

Why did you undercoat them with white? Salamanders use green and black, and both of those are better off with a black basecoat.

Well, you can get a really cool effect by washing the green on white. Just look at my orkz. With the exception of Da Kommizork, they've all had their skin washed on white, and in some cases, it looks almost like it was blended.

Well, I guess I got lucky then. xD; My sergeant's turning out to be one of the better minis I've painted so far.

My process:
- White undercoat
- Basecoat of snot green on the armor
- Wash the armor with badab black
- lightly highlight with strokes of strokes of scorpion green
- wash with thraka green to darken
- finally, highlight with scorpion green

that's only for the armor, but it's actually worked fairly well for me~
the black I'm just doing manually :3
