I went through page by page of the new rulebook looking for this rule. Did not find it. Looked through pages on you make da call, yet again couldnt find it. So how far can a assault vehicle(IE LR) move before disembarking, and then assault? And the page number if you know it would be AMAZING. Thanks in advanced!

Look in your codex. There is no "Assault Vehicle" rule in the rulebook anymore.

The rules for Disembarking are clear on when you can assault from a vehicle. Page 67. Also look at the Open Topped and Fast Vehicle rules too, as they have special rules regarding this scenario.

Well, it depends. Are you playing Black Templars or (I think) Dark Angels?

If you are, their Assault Vehicle rule WAS in the rulebook… the 4th edition rulebook!

I play Ultramarines. But my buddy plays templar. And when i read the codex i didn't see anything about assault vehicles in it. So i play out of the vanilla 5th marine codex. Although i would like to know about the templar too. So i can pass it on.

Ah, well the problem with the Land Raiders in the BT Codex is that they say they have the "Assault Vehicle" rule, but never tell you what it is (because it's meant to to be in the Rulebook).

Come 5th edition and the rule is gone, so RaW, Black Templars Land Raiders no longer can move before the unit disembarks and assaults, as they have no rule allowing the unit to do so.
Space Marine Land Raiders are not affected because it is a 5th edition codex, so they have the Assault Vehicle rule detailed in the Land Raiders special rules.

However, most people will be a little upset if you don't let them (with their BT LR).

Do you happen to know off hand where its at in the 4th rule book?

Not off hand, but in my 4th ed rulebook I just opened up it's on page 62. It's not called "Assault Vehicle", it's a little addon in the last paragraph that talks about open topped and Land Raiders.

OFF TOPIC: I was looking at the sprue catalog in your sig. Are you just putting pics of the sprues up? If so, I'll add to what isnt there if i get the models that are needed.

Just pointing out that the German errata (http://www.games-workshop.com/MEDIA_CustomProductCatalog/m2530040_Errata_Codex-Black_Templars.pdf) specifically mentions that it's valid for the english codex as well, and goes on to explain that the BT LR variants have the "Sturmpanzer" special rule, which is the German equivalent of "Assault Vehicle".
