This looks pretty sound. I'm not a big fan of the single skimmer and the single heavy tank, though. Perhaps you could drop one in order to get another other of the other?

I agree with Ailaros. However you've got a ton of plasma and only one squad of meltavets. I question this builds capabilities to effectively deal with armor. I'd suggest adding another melta-vet squad or take another Vendetta. Granted at 1000pts you won't see too much armor, but it's always nice to have a back-up plan in case things go south. You've said this list needs revising. That makes me think you've played with this list before. If so what were its shortcomings when you played it? Whatever they we're I'd focus there.

I dunno. If you plan on using plasmas to take out tanks you're gonna need to be aiming for rear armor. Sure they'd be decent against SM, IG, Tau transports, but once you get to AV12 and up you're gonna have some trouble. Not only that but if your plasma guns get hot and you lose your trooper you've just lost a 15pt upgrade. It's kinda risky imho. I usually reserve plasma for vets with carapace armor or STs. That actually might not be a bad idea. A deep striking stormtrooper squad with plasma to take out rear armor. Could work.
But yes melta-vets in valk is a good idea. I would probably drop the hellhound for another leman russ or valk tho...probably a leman russ.
