Here is my current 1500 point list, I have a few points to spare (84) and I'm trying to make the list a little better at dealing with vehicles. The Wolf Guard Battle Leader goes around with the Wolf Guard in the drop pod.

Right behind you. No, really.

hmm... your long fangs seem pretty well equipped... lascannons can take down even AV 14. I'd say if you cant do some point-cutting to add another drop pod and put some meltagunners there. then just drop next to the tank and meltagun it with the special melta rule.

i feel like you need to beef up your troops a bit too. they arent very strong in the plainish version you have, so in objective missions you might run into problems with only 2 troops that have difficulties in CC with no power fistss or things of that sort.

My other thought was to find a way to free up 1 point and take a Predator with Heavy Bolter sponsons

The unit of Wolf Guard in a Drop Pod is alot to spend for a unit that will get destroyed in the first turn or so. I'd rethink them. At the very least, consider turning all that into a Grey Hunter Squad.

That said, you've got more than 80 points left over. Take that and soup up what you've got, especially those Grey Hunter Squads.

IF you take both of those suggestions, you'll actually have enough troops choices to hold the majority of objectives in a 5 objective game.

So I changed the Wolf Guard in the drop pod into 10 Grey Hunters in Rhino, gave all Grey Hunters 2 Meltaguns each, one of the Grey Hunter squads has a Power Fist and the Battle Leader is now in Terminator Armor with Wolf Claws and will go with the WG in the LR.

That's a bit better. You might want to post the updated list.

The long fangs should have 5 missile launchers, just the best bang for your buck. Mixing weapons is a bad idea and not maxing out on those cheap ML's is a mistake.

Drop the grey hunters to 5 man squads with meltas and give them razorbacks with twin assault cannons or las cannons.

Give one of the terminators a thunder hammer in case they get stuck in combat with a dread or something similar and so that they can take on vehicles with rear armor 11. To be honest, that squad is overkill. You could get by with 5 and take another scoring unit of grey hunters in razorback for more versatility. Or, drop the LR as having only 1 LR usually means that it isn't going to last long, make the WG a foot unit with cyclone missile launchers and take two more units of 6 LF's with 5 ML's and now you have an army that brings pain, deals with hordes and tanks very well. Much better than what you have now.

I'd drop the battle leader for a rune priest for psyker defense and some JotWW and storm caller action.

That looks much better. The only thing I can recommend would be to follow Reecius' advice about those Long Fangs. I missed it during my initial review of the list, but missile launchers are bar none the best weapons for Long Fangs. Remember that fire control only works while the sergeant is alive. Since he's the only model without a heavy weapon, he should be the first guy you kill off when you take wounds. Once you lose him, you lose that flexibility, so if you have weapons meant for different targets, you waste shots, or, if they have different ranges, you lose shots entirely. Missile Launchers all have 48 inch range. 4 templates or 4 kraks is GOING to ruin someones day.

Yeah, listen to Reece. He knows what he's talking about when it comes to SW, especially about the Long Fangs. Go all ML and you will wreck someone's day, as Commander Endova said.
