Traditionally you would use Blood Red and Shining Gold, but what if you changed it to Scab Red and Shining Gold. I already have a few Khorne Berzerkers amour painted Scab Red but I can easily change my color scheme. What do you guys think, would it look better Scab or Blood?

you can paint them whatever you like I think, i've seen black bloodletters with red horns and they looked the business, you could do something similar as long as it looks like it fits the theme, but if you've already got some painted scab red then just keep going with it, good luck, would love to see some pics too!

So long as it's some shade of red, black, and brass, I think it matters little and you should go with your own preference.

I don't see the harm in it at all. I usually start with Scab Red and work my way up to Blood Red, then I'm lazy and just use Shining Bronze for my trim. Just never quite feel up to highlighting w/ gold.
Like Ouze said, Reds, Blacks, and Bronzes and you're in business. I actually think it'd be kind of neat to see a mostly black zerker squad with red accents. The book had kind of a lame one with black body and red helmet, but I'm sure somebody creative can come up with something better.

Why? If you are going for the traditional colors then yes, but that would be like saying that you HAVE to paint the Eldar Scorpions green. If you want to paint them white and blue, paint them so. If you like the way they turn out, then that is what matters. After all, our hobby if about having fun and liking our results, whats the point if we stick to what everyone considers "normal" and dont care for it at all. Besides if no one broke the "norm" you would never find anything new...

For most of my CSM, I'm using the Reaper Blood Triad - the middle color is about scab red, highlight is around blood and the shade is, well, darker. I think they look great that way, much better than starting with vibrant blood red (I'm not a fan of bright colors on my minis, though, so ymmv)

I tend to use Red Gore and Dwarf Bronze for the (admittedly few) berzerkers I've painted. I shy away from Shining Gold, as it seems to bright for a chaos army, and in any case, Khorne IS known as the BRONZE God of battle

Nice Khorne Berzerkers! If you want to paint them scab red then of course you can it’s your choice. But if you don’t like the red you have I paint my reds with 1st a layer of Blood red 2nd a layer of Red gore and then I wash it with Baal red (then you can highlight it but I don’t), It gives it a nice shiny darker bloody red perfect for khorne Berzerkers. You red is still very nice but if you washed it with Ball red it would look a lot better.

This is an interesting method of doing metallic red. The person was using it for pre-heresy Thousand Sons but it could work quite well for Berzerkers.
I'd already decided I'd try it if I was ever doing bloodcrushers.
