Just got off work but while on the way to work i was inspired by one of my favorite shows, which i watched shortly before goin to work...
MONSTER JAM!!!!
for those of you that have no idea what im talkin about...
well im talkin about 1500 hp of madness and destruction and flyin through the air...
basically im thinking about making a monster trukk for my orks...
just wanted to put my thoughts out there...havent yet looked for base models yet...
rules wise i think it could count as a trukk or as a battlewagon...as i think the giant tires would make for a great counts as deffrolla...
the only thing i have decided is the name of this monstrous idea
BIGTOOF!!!

C&C welcome and expected please!

I think a Battlewagon would be well suited to this. Certainly, Orks are the race most likely to enjoy monster trucking and the related events. Would be a great themed army, even - Bigtoof, Gravedigga, etc etc.

Grot pit crew. Nuff said.

When I used to work at GW we referred to Orks as "Rednecks in Space" for new customers with no point of reference for Orks.

This falls neatly within that description methinks...lol

The best thing about Orks and Monster Trucks is that Orks are already modelled in wife beaters and shirts with the sleaves ripped off. All they are missing is the beer can and a roll of chew.

Well today I think I'm going to get the monster truck model that will become the base for my monsta trukk.
I have been thinking about what it will count as and believe that it may be difficult for it to reasonably count as a battlewagon, basically representing the transport capacity of 20 models...
I do have some ideas though...
I'm not really thinking about going for the redneck look tho...I just want to make my orks a monster trukk just because it seems like it would be a cool idea.

I can definitely get behind the idea of a big Orky monster truck. Go for it! However, I think a deffrolla battlewagon would be more suited to the task. Considering monster trucks are all about running stuff over, I couldn't think of a better representation. Since most monster trucks are pickup truck-styled, you could easily get away with saying 10 nobz are sitting in the bed or whatever.

Okay so its been a couple of days.
I bought the monster truck kit and I am set on making it into a battlewagon.
The wheels of the truck as is are taller than my SMs Predator, so in my opinion I'm going to consider the wheels of the beast to be the deffrolla.
Although as I am typing this i am finding myself wondering, can a deffrolla be destroyed by weapon destroyed results?
Can't say I have actually thought about that before
The only other issue I am running into is where can I get or how can I make the possibly 4 big shootas I think I am going to arm this creation with?
I looked on the GW site and I saw the "more dakka" sprue I guess is what you would call it...but i want shootas not what looks like a shoota and a flamer...
I am thinking about rokkits or 2 tho...if I go that route, I plan to use some more .22 cal rounds (with the primers already used ofcourse) to match my trukk's.
I will try to post pics of the truck within the next couple of days...even though as of right now I haven't really done much.
Any ideas and advice?

What do they call 'em when they have the trucks pulling those big ass trailers? use one of those on the back end of something. Tractor pulls or something like that? or are those not with monster trucks?

P.S.
Yes I know I live in Texas but I'm not much of a monster truck fan. It's my only deep rooted shame.
And I don't like nascar. But don't tell anyone they will take away my guns...

In Oz, we call the big'uns "road trains" and the not-quite-so-big'uns "B-doubles" (tractor and double trailer).

Monster truck is more your "truck-o-saurus" kind thing.

Or is that a truck monster?

Don't worry Phat, I don't like Nascar either.

ok guys i know i havent posted any progress lately but i will do my best to take some pics of the trukk tommorrow...keep in mind this is very WIP right now...
this thing is GIGANTIC...im going to have to make it a battlewagon...the tires of the trukk alone are taller than my SM predator...if that doesnt do it for a counts as deffrolla...then i give up...
still thinking about weapon loadouts...rokkits or shootas or both?
im also planning on taking pics of the rest of my stuff...
later guys
