Hi guys. first couple photos of my army.

I'm putting this. up now, I plan to post-as-i-paint. (which seems to be the norm)

Thats a boltgun metal overbrush and a suburst yellow/light scorpion green overwash.


this wing has been done to depict the squad colour - mithral silver.


dirty boltgun metal used here - intended to have little scrape marks.


missiles have been painted properly. notice they're a different colour in the chamber, that was meant to be armed/disarmed

this works really nicely as a technique. are you going to dirty / dusty the models up as well as battle damage them?

The assault marine looks like he was dragged along behind a bike for a couple of turns.

I think the hood of the landraider got too much scuffing. A flat surface like that isn't likely to get that many scuffed up unless you are regularly running into assault marines who roll up over the hood of your vehicle scratching themselves and the landspeeder in the process.

If you do another one maybe paint some burn/bullet holes in the hood along with horizontal sratches (for bullets that pinged off the hull)

Fett, first off, land speeder.

the intention is actually snow. but I underbrush silver so it glistens a bit. it didn't work too well on LS.

I'll say it, the assault marine is supposed to look like he's covered in frost, coming down on a frozen planet from orbit.

there are bulletholes into it alread. it's funny the drill is just the right size for bolter shell sized bulletholes.

Nice use of the soldering iron. [IMO]

As for fluff, it's a custom army, so My chapter is as is.

The chapter has fluff for it's main characters [Solon, Vaerra, Ozai, Malokhai and Ticchinus] but retains little deviation from Codex: SM

I will be writing a codex for special characters, just for some basic information

Might I just suggest if you are going with a snow base theme, that you paint the rim of the bases white?

Brown works, because it seperates from the battle field anyway, not all of the bases have fully snow.

nice looking battle damage dude! i used to put holes in my stuff by using those scent sticks, just light one up and press the smouldering end into whatever you want. smells nice at the same time as well!

Really nice Solon, but I feel you go over the top with the battle damage

not really - the 'BD' on the assault marines was supposed to be frost. ya'know, they're charging from the skies, and it's an iceworld.

Otherwise, my land raider is minor chipping, but maybe so.
