G'day Dakkites...

Okay, this is a full nerd request, but I figure, if anyone can give me an answer on this, it will be my fellow dakkites!

I've just gotten my hands on a Graphic novel series called the Forever Wars. Its three seperate hardcover comics in a leather binding and case. Its signed by its author, Joe Haldeman, and is a limited release of five hundred, according to the details inside. It was made in 1991...

I'm not actually looking to sell it, because it looks pretty cool, but I'm pretty sure its worth a lot. Its in mint condition...

Anyone have any idea if this is worth much, I've checked a bit on the net, but finding comic values is a bit beyond my nerd capacity!

Thanks for any answers!

Check the Overstreet Guide.

However your item is so unusual it may not be possible to value using a guide.

If you want a valuation for insurance, you could visit a "reputable comic book shop" and ask them to value it for you.

Hmm, good idea...I didn't think to call a comic book store...

What makes you think its unusual?

Who was the artwork by?
Does it look like a "heavy metal" (magazine) style?

I think I got the first two parts when they were first released - and never managed to collect the last part.

If it's the comic I remember the artist was Cam Kennedy.

Live your life that the fear of death can never enter your heart. Trouble no one about his religion. Respect others in their views and demand that they respect yours. Love your life, perfect your life. Beautify all things in your life. Seek to make your life long and of service to your people. When your time comes to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song, and die like a hero going home.

G'day Chromedog, Yup, it is a three parter with Art by Marvana, signed by both the author and that other guy...

Yeah, I got my two copies autographed by Joe at an SF convention.

He told me it was a shame I didn't have the full set.

It is unusual because it is a limited edition of 500 sets, and autographed by the author.

This means the market is extremely limited so there is no chance of getting a typical market price by reference to frequent transactions like you see in everyday comics.
