so I have a dilemma, I have an imperial gaurd army and a space marine army in the works and I came across two problems

1. what color to do SM purity seals? the army is purple with blue shoulder pads and I'm not to sure what would look best

2. what coulor to do lasguns? the gaurdsmen are shadow grey fatuiges with fortress grey armour so which color should the guns be

any help or suggestions would be good

For your Marines, I'd suggest trying orange for the purity seals. It'll contrast nicely with the purple and the blue.

For IG, usually the gun is the same color as the armor. I'm personally a fan of that school of thought. A few questions though might help you get better suggestions with them:
Are the Cadians or another IG range?
Are you looking to paint your guns a different color from the armor?

Purity seals are often red, but green would also fit. Blue and purple could do with red seals if the purple is dark.

Lasguns for grey Guardsmen:

- anthrazit ( matt black) . Non reflective black is a fine choice for guns.
- brown, if their supplier used wood. Guard regiments may differ as they get their first set of wargear from the planet they recrut of.
