Just got my rulebook and all I can say is 'cool'. I've done my share of GW bashing, but I really like the feel, layout, pics, quality, etc. Overall an 'A-' in my book. Would have been A+, but I need more tabs Collectors edition must be even better.

Not really because you'd want to use it so rarely the extra two ribbions are really only there to tease you
But it is a very nice book and I'm actually surprised as it's possibly the best quality book I've seen. As for the normal one, looks good but not worth the $124 it is here.
Any other Ausies here go to Maelstrom and it's only around $70, we can pretend to have American prices

I agree, great book, great new set of rules...
I really did not like some of the new rules on paper, but in practice they are awesome!

I'm still making my way through the new book but, from what I've seen so far, it is very nice. It's managed to rekindle my interest in Fantasy again too, which is a pretty impressive feat.

Maybe the best part is it 'seemed' they were actually ready with most questions. Releasing the pdfs for each army helped too. Not saying there won't be issuses, but nice to have a common starting point.

Yeah I totaly agree. I was genuinely impressed. I would give it an A. Although I can't help thinking that the next 40k rulebook will be awesome and now I'm already looking forward to that.

When I first saw the BRB, I was blown away, other than the sheer fact that it's in full color, but the mini showcase, the lore, the sidebars, and the quality of the book itself, along with color diagrams for just about every rule. The there's the huge battle they depict at Volganoff, which is awesome.

A friend of mine brought the collector's edition to my gaming club last night, and even the board gamers were transfixed by its majesty. I thought the regular rulebook was impressive enough until I saw this thing. The Collector's Edition rulebook is no joke.

It definitely is helping me with my biceps.
I have to urge to pose with it open with one hand and a bolter in the other.
I do love my collectors ed book. I think it will handle the usual gaming wear and tear rather well, and I don't need to use templates as bookmarks anymore. I just got my standard/beast magic cards yesterday, so that's one less thing to bookmark, too. Those will be the handiest things, too.

This thing is great!!!! However, I have a lot to carry as it is, and a rather heavy magnetic tray I use to transport my army, so I will be even happier with the "mini-me" rulebook comes out in the starter set .
I am glad to have the large one, though! It's fantastic

I agree. The book is fantastic, can't put it down, and I'm rereading it again, as small points keep on coming up which are important.
With the weight though, makes you want to get the boxed set just for the mini rulebook (and of course the jaw dropping plastic snap on minis!!!)...say what you want, but GW plastics keep on getting better and better!

The book itself is cool, but what I really dig is the way they put in rules that evened out a lot of the races. Ogres feel competitive again. I don't know all the races, but of the 6 or so army books I have I think I could make a competitive army out of them.
And also agree on the FAQ updates and hope they keep at that with great regularity.

Agreed - an excellent new version of the rules and a most impresive tome.
Tried first game last night and it was awesome - much more enjoyable than previous editions I have tried.
Special mention for the new charge rules - they are simply awesome - oh and pre-measuring - Big tick.

Oof, I just started reading my brand new copy of this monster today, was a bit of a chore to read from page 1-200 or so, but I think I got a (shaky) grasp on the rules. I'm really impressed with the quality of this book. Still can't really get over the price though, but hey, GW may have delivered a top-notch product, but their prices are always less so.
