Raging-on-the-Inside Blood Angel Sergeant

Tau were the first army I bought and painted. Now I look and think the job was ok but won't be winning any awards. Instead of doing touch-ups I'm going to repaint everything and fix the modelling errors as I come across them. I currently have around 5000 points and plan on doing the majority of them. Am I ever going to use 80 firewarriors? Probably only in Apoc.
My Plans:
Bork'An Sept color scheme using Vallejo Model/Game paints.
Snow basing.
Rough Army contents:
1 XV8 Shas' El Commander
80 firewarriors
15 Pathfinders
6 Rail rifle pathfinders
36 Kroot
10 Kroot Hounds
10 XV8 Crisis Suits
6 XV25 Stelathsuits
6 XV15 Stealthsuits
4 XV88 Broadsides
3 Devilfish
3 Hammerheads (3 Railguns, 3 ion cannons,1 Skyray turret)
3 Piranhas
2 Marker Drones
8 Shield Drones
10 Gun Drones
Here's the first WIP test figure for the firewarriors:
Automatically Appended Next Post: Overview of all the models that are currently being worked on. All firewarriors for my 1850 list and most of the crisis suits. Test painting for the Hammerhead/Devilfish and the Piranhas.

Some more updates about the painted Piranha. Testing out color schemes for vehicles. These were actually done before the group shot above.
Questions/comments/advice is more than welcome. I'm still in the very early stages. Hopefully over the period of about 1-3 months this will be completed to a high tabletop standard. Or at least painted much better than they were beforehand. Here's a beforehand picture of some of the models:
The color scheme is much easier to work with as well as the paints I am using now. Most of the vehicle work is done with a 1/4 flat brush.

Yay for some work on the broadsides (or a broadside at least).
This is still a rough model with tons of work to go on it. The lines are not really that clean but the basics are there. I've been testing out the scheme for the railguns and I'm not sure what to do with them. The black makes them stand out but I wonder if it really fits in with "snow camo" and the Bork'An theme. Silver might blend in too much though.
The dakka auto-correct was not nice to these pictures at all. I'll try to get some more tonight or tomorrow plus some more updated shots of the piranha that's cleaned up. I've also got the base coat on another devilfish and need to start lining it with the blue. I'm switching between a blue wash and a blue micro pen to see which actually comes out better. The ink makes a total mess of the base coat near the lining but the pen needs pushed hard to actually work. Maybe if I can find a fine tipped marker it would be better.

A quick update:
I've done a bunch of lining. Got a few more of the tanks started. Feel free to browse the gallery for more details:

Thanks for the compliments. I have all of the weapons magnetized. I haven't got around to doing the painting on any weapons yet though. Maybe I'll make that my goal for tonight.

A few more updates on the progess of the cadre:
I ended up using greenstuff to fill in a bunch of the different gaps on a new crisis commander I picked up. I filled in the holes for the weapons and repositioned the leg. I added a fire warrior shoulder pad to the knee and used some random bits to put on the base. Overall I like the positioning. The head and arms are currently being held in place by blue sticky tac until painting is finished. All of the base painting is finished. I'm not sure what color to make the joint areas or the stabalizers on the jet pack (the pieces that look like bolts). Leave them black? A different color grey? Brass?

As to the bolts I would suggest keep the blue for the central part thats a circle with a slash thru it, but use grey for the ring around it.. that'll help smooth out the transition, and be more in line with what you've got so far. For the exhausts (I assume that's what you mean by stabilizers) I would use whatever you chose for the shins, and then if you're feeling adventurous paint the interior to look like its cooling from a jump.
Just a personal critique...the CIB? really? sooo overpriced for what it does...
