I just went to the site and the intro episode with the new hosts is posted.

I'm at work so I can't listen right now... I'm dying to know if it's good or has hope.

It was interesting. Basically lining out the expectations of what they want to do.

I thought the most interesting thing is that they said they wanted Stelek on the show and gave him some love.

That is... interesting.

I'll give it a listen later on tonight - thanks for the head's up and the link!

Listening to it now.

The coolest thing for me is that one of the new hosts is a local player, my local store (Sci-Fi City Orlando) was mentioned.

Current Armies: Blood Angels, Imperial Guard (40k), Skorne, Retribution (Warmachine), Vampire Counts (Fantasy)

It was really interesting for us who have followed this debacle since Spencer called quits.

They cleard out a ton of these intetrenet rumours and all, and at the same time taking the duscussion on to what they think the show is going to be. Lots of cool ideas on how to have hosts from other podcasts therre, Stelek(!) and Les Bursley was the name that came up.

The major thing for me was is if they wanted to stay on the "old" format or try to do something new with what they have now. And any doubts of trying to replicate the old show was kinda shot down.

Give it a month, perhaos two, and it'll be even better than it was before.

EDIT: Drunkendness polished away.

I really hope youre right. One thing they need to fix is the audio quality.

I listened to it tonight. I thought it was pretty good for what it was suposed to be. An intro into the new show. The hosts seem pretty cool and you have a descent mix of someone who has played forever and someone who is what I would call a 2nd Generation gamer (someone who has only played late 3rd and 4th edition up to now).

You also got to see a different side of Romeo. I have met him twice now and talked with him on the phone when I ordered my Battlefoam. All business. Which I understand but its nice to hear his inner gamer finally come out.

Good to hear the show back and running.

When in doubt.........Duck!

Even in the far future there can still be heroes...

I hope something comes of them trying to build a community that is more than "pay to be our friend" regardless of if they are getting rich off of it or not.

I thought their comment that the freebootaz (sp) memberships are their mechanism for show support, just as other podcasts have donation or episode sponsorships to cover the overhead, was well taken. If I were expending time, effort, and money on producing a show I think I'd prefer a known quantity cash flow for the expenses over "maybe we'll have somebody make a donation to pay the bill for the internet bandwidth this month...".

I think they had some excellent ideas. Now it's just a matter of following through on them.

Sounds like the future of 40k radio will be in good hands.

Looking forward to the first (real) show.
