I run a tree list and, imho, it's actually more viable in 8th edition than it was before!

What point level were you thinking? Here's one I've tried out twice in friendly games at 1500 points for 8th edition, and won both

Treeman Ancient, Annoyance of Nettlings, Cluster of Radiants- 375
12 Dryads, Branch Nymph- 156
12 Dryads- 144
12 Dryads- 144
6 Treekin- 390
Treeman- 285
Total- 1494

Although, it's definitely brutal taking TWO treemen at 1500 points! We can take 4 at 3000 now, although I'm never going to take more than 3, since I can't see having two Ancients in the same army.

Imho, the above is a rock-solid list that's pretty competitive, given the parameters of staying "all trees"!

ya the best 3k I cam up with was only 3 treeman. Which is sad for me because I have around 6k of wood elves (elves) and about 1k of forest spirits. But lvl 4 with life to heal ancient + 2 treeman is the way to go!

Good list for a lower point Woodie army. I'm all about the Elves but I would so love to try this list. Think I just might do that just to see how it goes.

Hmm, using lore of life with 3 treemen does sound absolutely brutal. If I ever had a grudge match against someone, I would probably try just that although as it doesn't fit my theme, I'll probably leave that one to "theory hammer". Does tempt me to pull out the spellsinger on unicorn, though!

I think it's pretty potent for such a low point level! I've seen people posting about wood elves being good at higher point levels, but due to the good stats of our basic core, I really like WE at low point levels.

Here's what I was thinking for my own 2K list, I haven't gotten to try it out yet, though:

I've been debating on whether it's more effective to run dryads at 7-wide (to get maximum attacks against 5-wide 25mm units) or 6-wide (to get max attacks against 5-wide 20mm units). I went with 6-wide for 1500 points, and might also use it at higher point levels so I don't get jammed up- with 1/2" spacing between the models, it makes it quite long! Skirmishers do get free reforms, but when they charge they'll just compress to a block with no spacing.

Here I've gone with 7-wide, and will playtest and see which I like better. It's also needed to make the 25% minimum core (with 4 points to spare!).

There's an eagle in there, not technically a tree spirit, but they live in the trees and are a wild animal, so I think it's OK . If you didn't want an eagle, dropping it would give you room for 4 more dryads, and perhaps running them in slightly smaller formations and adding an extra unit of them.

I had a lot of good results with 14 man dryad units in the last couple of days. Played a 3k game and 2 2k games and 14 was a good number. Easy enough to set up 7 wide against 25mm units and 6 with some in a 3rd rank against the 20mm.

Is she any good with a tree army. i would of thought the bonus 2 Dispell dice would be awesome in 8th ?

Interesting... drycha could be good now, and perhaps I'll try her out at some point! I'm curious if Cluster of Radiants can still be taken on a treeman ancient if she is in the army... probably not :-/

Appearing all over the map could be good depending on how you pulled it off, and when your units arrived. However, woods are easier for your opponent to enter now, so they could block a lot of the units from coming in possibly.
