Hi all

Does anyone know if there are new data files for army builder for 8th edition?

My license expired about 5 months ago so I am looking for somewhere to download them.

THIS soon? I doubt it. Usually it's a couple months after a major release that updates are finalized. 'least, that's the way it often is with AB40k, dunno about ABWFB.

The book has been in the public domain for about a month now due to early release copies going out to retailers.

Actually, AB is fairly easy to use in conjunction with 8th ed...just bring up army parameters in the top left corner for point per choice and % values....ignore army restrictions and just follow that table and you are done.

The main army books didnt change, just the way you purchase units.

15000 - Tyranids
4000 - Skaven
1500 - Dark Eldar
2500 - Daemons
1500 - Necrons

Actually, some of the army books changed alot (like BSB's being able to take equipment now). Plus you don't have the new common magic items at the correct costs.

Just because your license expired, you can still download from the LW website. The only thing that doesn't work is the auto-updater.

Good Point, didnt think of that.

However, if you are just looking to redesign what youve got, that is a temp fix

The FAQs might have changed some things.

You do but as I said, you don't have all the NEW common items at their correct costs.

"As to 8th edition, the files are being worked on but there is no ETA as yet. A change in edition generally causes a lot of things to change in most, if not all, of the files that make up the AB40k dataset, so it takes a lot longer to deal with initially than a codes update would."

That was 5 July 2017.
