I was thinking of making an ork aircraft that copies the A 10 Thunderbolt II or Warthog.

Cost 240

Flyer

F S R BS
11 11 10 2

Gunz
1 Gatler
4 Supa Rokkit

Gun statz
48" S8 AP 3 Heavy 2D6, AA mount

Special Rules
You MUST move over 48" to fire the Gatler.

What do you think????

Professionals are predictable, it's the amateurs that are dangerous.

Hmm I would drop it down to str 7 and up the shots to 3d6.

I like the idea of needing to move so far before being able to fire the gun. It greatly mimics the..the.. well the name of the aircraft escapes me. But I would maybe shorten it up some. Maybe to 36 or 24.

Or if you wanted you could add in something like everything it passes directly over takes d6 hits like its doing a strafing run. Or maybe everything within a 12 inch line takes d6 hits but the aircraft has to fly over said 12 inch straight line. But can turn before and after. That seems a little more complicated but not as broken.

24" would be a better movement restriction for the gun. Moving 48" will generally get you to the other end of the table, away from anything to shoot. I'd also drop the gun down to strength 5 or so. Strength 8 is kind of ludicrous.

There's also a proposed rules forum this would fit into far better.

I was really meaning that instead of moving a minimun of 36" a turn for a flyer to fire the gatler you have to move a minimun of 48". Also I have the S8 so it can take out av14 vehicles or do you think that have str 7 3D6 shots AND rending a good idea??? Because thats all its there for is to turn whatever it shoots at into mush.

I would also consider giving it the " big bomb " rule that gyrocpoters have ( straight cut and paste should work fine )

Also the main gun dosnt need the AA mount ( that only works on weapons firing UP AT a flyer )

Wacky add ons

1. -- random turbo booster .. cost 10 pts -- single use -- when used you get 2D6 extra movement for that one turn

2. -- specialist ammo -- cost 20 pts -- single use -- when used for one round of shooting the main gun gets melta special rule , but on a roll of a 1 to hit the round damages the flyer not the target ( auto glance )

3. -- poper seat -- ejector seat for pilot -- roll if flyer is destroyed 1-5 pilot ok ( place a single ork model on board -- armed with chopper + slugger ) on a roll of a 6 pilot fails to eject and is blowen to bits !!!!

4. grot turrets -- 15 pts each -- up to 4 turrets may be added with a grot gunner in armed with a twin linked big shooter -- these may be used to strafe ground targets ( the flyer must have passed over the target in the movement phase ) or air to air as defensive turrets against other flyers

hope these help

I would add a little part to the rule saying it (the ork) doesnt count as a kill point. It would probably be important, because otherwise there is no point taking it.

where exactly does it state this, I have not found it anywhere, and makes the Imperial Lightning Strike Fighter have a Superfluous rule(a Long Barreled AA mounted Autocannon).

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.

All flyers weapons are AA as they are mounted on a flyer with the intention of shooting down other flyers - lightnings are air superiority fighters so what the hell else would they be shooting at , lightnings are multi roll but still spend the vast bulk of there time in the air to air role , etc etc etc

They shall be my finest warriors, these men who give of themselves to me. Like clay I shall mould them, and in the furnace of war forge them. They will be of iron will and steely muscle. In great armour shall I clad them and with the mightiest guns will they be armed. They will be untouched by plague or disease, no sickness will blight them. They will have tactics, strategies and machines so that no foe can best them in battle. They are my bulwark against the Terror. They are the Defenders of Humanity. They are my Space Marines and they shall know no fear.

When you said wanted to make did you mean just the stats or actually build?
