My idea is the meta vets take the valk and suicide what armor can really hurt. LR's full of termies come to mind but dedicated anti armor squads/tanks also. If the squad lives a turn the valk can pick them back up and they can be more usefull.

The flamer squads are my more general purpose, roving midfield with my hellhound and russes hopefully being supported by my plas/manticore. I have found 3 hatch flamers and the chims heavy flamer can turn most squads to mush. If they ignore the squad/destroy the tank in cc the vets can get out shoot again and charge in to mop up.

Plas squads and ccs. Mostly for holding objectives and providing support to midfield.

Have been doing pretty well with this list, all the dozers are due to the fact that we will be playing cityfight campains this fall and I am trying to get this army up to snuff so that a new player can play them or my nids.

I have a feeling I may have enough anti horde and may replace the manticore with another russ or demolisher. Any ideas on that?

Seems fairly solid to me, but it's always a good idea to have a unit or two of your run-of-the-mill guardsmen for any purpose you may need at the time (Probably distractions from your overall plan)

I think meltagun squads are a higher priority for dozers than plasma squads, generally.

I would also swap autocannons and PFs in veteran squads to put multiple rocket pods on the valkyries.

If you dropped a veteran squad, you could use the slot for a small platoon. Two squads hold objectives, and the PCS rides in a chimera with four flamers instead of only three, for a lot cheaper.

I would want more melta guns at 2000pts. Valks are great, but melta vets in chimeras can shoot out of the hatch in relative safety.

The basic russ is simply not a great unit. It does ok, but you get one large blast a turn, the enemy will most likely get cover, and you don't crack 2+ saves. I'd strongly consider dropping it for a medusa.

I-bounty-hunt-the-elderly The meltas are in the valks so no dozers needed. I have left the weapons off my valks as I have not yet decided on what I really want to equip them with. Currently I am going cheap and dirty but I will try more with the MRP's

Polonius I have been thinking of a medusa with bastion breachers for a long time. Mostly has been disregarded due to the lack of a non FW model. Still have been considering some basic troops but it is so much fun driving the tanks around.

A medusa is actually a pretty simple conversion. I built mine by cutting the barrel off of a basilisk, and attaching a battle cannon barrel.

Basic troops don't' accomplish much, but they hold objectives for cheap!
