So I'm slowly working on putting together a sorcerer for my Warriors, but I'm in need of some help.
I'm basing it's pose on The Sanguinor

Here's what I got so far:

As you can probably tell, I'm a beginner when it comes to green stuff and the model is in big need of some love, but I got the pose down I know what it's supposed to look like atleast. My problem is how to make him levitiate above the base, not alot since he's already taller than a average marine. The idee I have atm is to give him some chains as support, kinda like this guy:

Problem with that is the chains. As I mentioned before, I'm really bad with greenstuff, so making the chains out of that would probably be impossible (I've seen the guide here on dakka and it looks really hard -.-'). So anyone got another idée for the levitation support or a simpler way to make chains? Any tips when it comes to using green stuff would be helpful too, since I really need to redo the legs and arms. In fact, any comment on this model would be great since it's my first atempt at using green stuff for conversion, and I really want to make him look good

clear plastic tubing or spru parts or a clear plastic flier base works best for me

That would probably be the easiet solution, have to look around for some of those. Dunno if I like the idée of drilling a hole up my sorcerers arse and sticking a clear tube there thought xP

I would just cut up a clear flyer base and weather it. Then get some small jewelry chains and hang them down then run some florist wire through the chain to stiffen it up.

Just an idea, why don't you just chaosify up the Sanguinor model. File off the iconography and remove the head and the chalice and put new wings on it. No green stuffing or anything.

Just my $.02

That's a great idea Nalyd, didn't even think about it, should be pretty easy to find some of those chains to.

Your idea would probably be the simplest solution of all Fallenbourne, if it wasn't for the fact that I've fallen in love with the Wings and the staff. I could replace the wings and sword on the Sanguinor, but I've already come so far with the stuff I alreaedy have that I don't really feel like spending 160 SKR on it.

I would drill a hole in his foot and insert a bit of wire to hold him up. I did this with my assault marines and it worked out pretty well.

since random chains and spikes are ok for Chaos I would suggest heading to a craft store and buying some jewelry chain and draping it such that is obscures the wire use to hold him up.

way too much

Thank you all for the tips, I think I'll go with the wire and jewelchain combo for the levitaition part.

So do you have any advice on the greenstuff part? What I've been doing up to this point is just roll the stuff into a ball, stick it to the base of the leg and then putting the foot on. After that I just remove green stuff until it looks kinda good. I don't know if there's a better way to do things, but well, it kinda works for me
