Today i played a game against orks. Dawn of war deployment. I had wiped out all his forces on the board he had 5 nobs left a warboss and 20 gretching in reserve i move my guys up to take his obj. and he comes in reserve on his side of the board and assaults my 20 man squad with commisar and officers. Basically they get destroyed real quick. 2 questions now he said each nob had different armament so he could put one wound on each guy? i thought you had to just if one guy has a wound put the next wound on the guy with the one wound? Can he spread them out like that? also can you assault the turn you come in from reserve?
thanks

Yes to both questions.
Nobs can have different wargear for each one. Wound allocation rules require you to assign wounds to differently equipped models.
There is nothing in the rules that does not allow assault when you come from reserve. It doesn't happen often because you have to come from your board edge. If your unit was that close to his board edge, then yes, he could assault you,

Yes he can. If all the nobs have different equipment he can juggle wounds like that. In my gaming circle we call it "Playing musical wounds". It can be an annoying thing, but it can make his unit very, very pricey.
also can you assault the turn you come in from reserve?
Yes to this as well.

Do a search for wound allocation shenanigans. Its even worse when you have a full unit of ten Nobs each armed differantly.

I like smushing them to pieces with tanks and artillery. Whoops, no more FNP and they are inst-killed. Probably about the best solution to those kinds of shenanigans.
Use autocannons (or heavier guns in the case of battlewagons) to blow up their ride and then blast them away with the big guns. Not much more you can do, unfortunately.

The Humble Battlecannon is by far the best way to kill Nobz. Yes, they get 4+ cover or 5+ ivul, but it rips past their FnP and 2W.
It also lets you stay WELL away from them!

Battlecannon is only AP3 so they will still get their FnP saves, but it's still better than nothing. Demolisher Shells on the other hand are great.

If he had no miniatures on the table ae the units in reserve still aloud to arrive? Are they not considered defeated?

There is nothing in the rule book that states you are defeated if you ahve no models on the board.

Considering what that would do to a lot of daemon armies, no. It's when all units have been killed or removed from game, which is very different.
