Hey everyone,
So after getting some criticism about not using NMM on my St. Celestine figure (idc, the commissioner ditched out on payment) I decided to try my hand at the whole Non-Metallic Metal technique. I decided on my Primaris Psyker, as it is the HQ and partial centerpiece to my half of my Team Tournament army for BOLSc....WAR Games Con...I think it turned out really well. I used Darren Latham's technique out of the WD 363 for the Gold, then concocted my own style for the silver on the metal piece around his neck and on part of the staff. I need to spend 10 mins or so finishing the "I" on the tabard, but I think as a whole he turned out exceptionally well...I may even enter him into the painting competition at the convention!
Anywho, here's some pictures:

As usual, C&C is totally welcome, as this is my first attempt at NMM, I'd really love some tips and tricks, as well as some basic constructive criticism!
Thanks,
Granesh

Honestly it's hard to tell as the picture seems a little fuzzy, but I think it looks really good.
You kept it subdued, which many people that try their hands at NMM don't, and it doesn't look really chalky, another problem as people try to suggest "shine" with too much white.

Next step, NMM baneblade...go!

Also anyone that criticises you for NOT using NMM is ridiculous. Using metallics can produce gorgeous results and is just as legitimately a high end painting technique as NMM.

@Plastictrees: I totally agree with you on the NMM, I have gotten some really nice effects with metallics, but hey, everyone has their preferences. As for the fuzziness of the pictures....yeah...I'm still figuring out my new digital camera, and despite having a ton of megapixels and some nice toys, my latest pictures are a tad fuzzy, even with a little editing.

I'll probably end up putting up my newest finished Sanctioned Psyker next, same colour scheme, same style, same NMM!
