For my upcoming lizardmen army i'm planning on painting the soft skin black , if possible could i please have some advice on how to make the black skin look less montone and with some depth to it?The scales are going to be green , scorpion green for skinks getting darker upto dark angels green for kroxigor , any advice oh highlighting on this?

Alternatively can i have some suggestions for alternative colour schemes i want some thign that looks natural or camo-y

Thanks in advance

'claw

Here is my desert scheme which I can give you the recipe for if you like it.

I use the exact same scheme across all models in the army.

yeah you could do that then wash badab black, or just instead of the bone color, do that scales in charadon granite....then wash badab black...the wash will give it that lizardy sheen....

Sold everything.

prime white
base coat skin khemri brown
base coat scales and crest dheneb stone
wash entire model with devlan mud
highlight skin with dheneb stone
highlight scales and crest with bleached bone
wash with gryphonne sepia
claws and teeth with bleached bone

for this scheme I use dark flesh for spears and other woods
I use charadon granite and adeptus battlegrey for blades and other "obsidian" parts. I use Reaper Pro series Dragon Gold which is a darker and more subdued gold that other companies don't offer. bases are graveyard earth.
