There have been a lot of threads lately for worst store, game, opponent, ect. I want to hear about some of the cool stores, the great opponents, the hilarious battles, and the ridiculous tournaments.

I remember my best experience was a trip to Warhammer World that was organised by my local GW. We had to leave at 5am to get there at 9:30. We all had lunch included in the ticket price, as well as many tables booked including the massive fortress table. Afterwards we all had drinks in Bugmans discussing the game and other matters. All in all, it was a superb day.
Another brilliant moment is when I bought my Reaver's Laser Blasters on the FW Open Day. I bought 2, which would cost £100.
The guy gives me the package, opens it just to check that no parts are damaged, picks up one Blaster to check the other one, and simply says: "That'll be £50 please".
At first I was going to point out his mistake, but then I thought to myself "F*** it, you've given this company so much of your money, just do it", by the time I've realised, I've handed him £50 and scarpered incase he realises his mistakes.

Well, in one game, I let a guy use his custom Land Raider. It had 2 quad-linked assault cannons for side weapons (each quad-linked assault cannon was 2 twin-linked assault cannons, but for WD results you kill both). It also had 2 coaxial missile launchers and a pintle-mounted quad-linked autocannon or some silliness. It was a super-friendly game, so I let it roll. I then got first turn and blew the uber-Land Raider to bits with one Manticore shot. The look on his face was priceless.

Other Realms in Hawaii has a conference room rented out in the mall every Monday night. You can play about 15 games of Warhammer or 40k and there is a bunch of space for smaller games like Malifaux or gaslight or whatever.
They have 15 boxes of terrain to use for free and there are a few tables and work spaces in the shop that are always open for games.
Tons of people to game with whenever.
All in all an excellent place to game!

Infiltrating Broodlord

About 9 years ago, when I was just getting into WFB after a few years of 40k, I played a game at a GW against a friend, the store Empire army vs the store VC army.
1)Shot with a unit of 19 men ( I forget what they were armed with) at a unit of 19 ghouls.
2)Needed fives to hit.
3)Got 12 fives and 7 sixes.
4)Needed fives to wound.
5)Got 14 (!!!) sixes and five fives.
6)PROFIT!

One of my best moments was playing TFG at the flgs. NO ONE liked this guy and was normally the butt of every joke. He thought he was a gift from god and we should warship the ground he walks on or tahnk him for even letting us breath the same air as him. I always refused to play the guy but there wasnt anyone else around and I really wanted to get a game in. Thats what I get for showing up late. So I drop my army which is very fluff and he starts talkin trash right as he sees it. HAHA those are weak that unit sucks ext ext. He was tabled by turn 3. As we were starting everyone else was finishing up and it was the end of the night so most people were gathered around before heading off to eat so everyone in the store got to watch him make a huge ass of himself. after that we didnt see him for a good while.

Can't you see we have been abandoned? Forget matters of duty and honor to the emperor this is now a matter of pride. |

Games Workshop Cherry Hill, 2002?
GW Cherry Hill had a manager name Dave, who became a good friend of mine. Right around Thanksgiving, Dave was looking for people to get involved in a painting contest. Basically on the Weds before thanksgiving you picked up a battalion or battle force, and you had until that sunday at noon to return with a fully painted/ based army.
I was off for once, so Dave and I spent about a hour in the shop around noon bsing what to try. I settled on Dwarves. What this started was one of my favorite armies. First, the box is a bargain for what you get, 2nd, Dwarves are nice to paint and the models are sweat. There were initially 8 of use that entered.
I spend my Thursday watching football and building/ priming, Friday I paint in the morning, college football in afternoon, go boozing at night. Saturday I paint for the morning and afternoon, and do highlights during the wee hours while hanging out with some friends and my girlfriend. I show up on sunday with the Battalion and realize I have just painted about 1000 pts of dwarves in less then 4 days. Me and 1 other guy finish, I win, move onto the regional competition and place 2nd. I get a Master Engineer: woot!
Seriously though, this competition taught me stage painting IE building an entire section of your army, and doing 1 color at a time for the entire force. It taught me how to paint in mass, quickly cleanly. And I still have my Dwarves.
