Pathfinders. 10 man-squad 240 points. They own marine termies. And more Reapers. They decimate power armour.

I forgot to look at them I will add them in the list. Also should I take more transports.

I'm assuming you mostly play with friends strictly for fun like I do. Avengers, guardians, banshees, and dragons are going to get McOwned footslogging their way around, especially in a 3000pt game. So I would suggest adding wave serpents to those units so they have a chance of survival, adding another fire prism, or otherwise I concurr with Farseer of the Quiran-Vae.

Do you have more transports? Ideally Avengers who bladestorm will want something to jump back on during their reload turn. Also Dragons without a transport is just a silly idea, they'll get gunned down before they ever get in range. Everybody goes after FireDragons and Marines especially shoot at banshees since they are scared of all the powerswords... as soon as possible. Dragons are kind of a suicide unit you have to get them there, drop them, pop the big nasty Land Raider, and hope they survive the opponent's next turn. They definitely need a transport. SO yeah get 3 more cheap wave serpents in there if possible, total 4: 2 for the Avengers, 1 for the Dragons, 1 for the Banshees.... it would help a lot. If points become a problem dump the Vypers first, and Hawks, while fun, kind of suck so they could be struck too in favor of more Wave Serpents. I cannot overstate how important transports are for us.

Last thoughts: regarding deployment, leave your guardians back with rangers and reapers to serve as a meat-shield should the enemy get too close to your gun-line. They are fairly useless and squishy easy to kill if you try to advance with them. Give them Embolden and keep them in cover, it's much more effective (and cheaper) than conceal. but they are good for getting in the way, and may just survive until the end of the battle to take an objective if you keep them back. A good gunline of Rangers and Reapers screened by Guardians as a roadblock is a definite tough nut to crack for MEQs. You don't need star engines on your prism either, as it should be shooting every turn.

Ok,I removed the vypers and add 4 more wave serpents. I also downgraded my first wave serpent to make it just under 3000p. Found a mistake in my list there is two fire prisms not one my bad. One more thing I want to put Eldrad and the avatar in a unit but which unit should I put them in.

Like others have said I'm assuming this is for a friendly match with friends? At 3k points you will get eaten if competitive.

- Avatar is a monstrous creature he can't join anyone.
- Put eldrad in with the Banshees but if you assault either keep Eldrad in the Serpent or assault seperately.
- Split up your Pathfinders up to 2 5x man they are jsut as effective and you won't be down 10 if you get flamered or assaulted.
- Wave Serpent loadouts... S.Cannons suck, at least put Scatter lasers on the dang things.
- Fire Dragons Exarch with pike and tank hunters is overkill, that will save you a chunk of poitns by dropping him
- Swooping hawks drop 1 regular hawk to have 4 regs and exarch.
- Dark Reapers, take crack shot instead of fast shot. 2 Small blasts that ignore cover, reroll to wound, and AP3... yes please.
- Fire Prisms, at 3k points you have no excuse for not taking holo-fields since they will save your arse.


Overall synergy.. you're hurting there. Example:
- You have 2 packs of DA in serpents and Eldrad for Farseer guidance. DA's trick is bladestorm but for it to be effective you need guide and the unit and doom on the enemy unit. If you put Eldrad with one of those units you can achieve this, but the other will be missing Guide making them much less effective.
- Now add to this the fact that on your DA you have PW/SS, to pull of the assault you will have to have your vehicle sit around a turn in assault range and hope your opponent will sit there too. If you manage to get the assault off you will have 18 s3 normal attacks and 3 s3 PW attacks for 162 pts... seeing an issue there? Charging at full strength against marines you are looking ~1.5 unsaved wounds you'll inflict with those 21 attacks.

You have 8 units that will be moving at high speed, 3-4 units that will be sitting still and fire basing, 1 unit that should be jumping in and out of reserves, and 1 monstrous creature walking up field. It's an interesting mix of tactics, but if you face certain lists your reapers, guardians, and pathfinders will be dead turn 1 at 3k.

Ok, I did a few of the changes BlueDagger Suggested except the dark reaper one like fast shot it is to good to pass up. I also change the DA exarch PW/SS to 2 shuriken catapults as I hope they do not get in to CC. So this what the list looks like now and this list will be used mainly for friendly match.

That one makes much more sense. Just know what unit to point at with all your different angles and you'll do fine. I suggest keeping the scorpions back in cover along with the gunline, maybe infiltrated into cover a little in front if possible. Hit termies with banshees, tanks with dragons (or hawks), devastators with hawks and drop-pop avengers. You have a couple of points left, may as well take 'intercept' for your hawks so that Landspeeders won't be a problem (and should be a priority target). The prisms need to be in corners and blasting craters all over the place, and the Wave serp line can alternate from one side corner to the other, piece by piece while denying return fire from the other side. Lookin good!

Ok much better. I think what you lack now is some anti-tank. Looking down your list, almost everything is anti-infantry. One squad of fire dragons isn't going to help much in a 3k game and the avatar will run out of breath before he catches any vehicle and all he'll have is his cyclops S8 Heavy 1 attack. Would probably recommend loading up the wave serpents with EML's or BL's. Giving the prisms stones is probably a good idea as well. To pay for what I just suggested, I would recommend dropping the swooping hawks.

The hawks, while pretty mediocre at everything else, at least have haywire grenades. They add anti-tank. Dump something for a little 80 point dragon squad so you have two suicide drop-pops. either that or invest in some TL brightlances for your serpents to make up for you lack of AT.
