So, i have about 4k in 40k CD atm, and i am looking to get in to fantasy, i have really no clue how to play but alot of people play at my local gaming store... What should i be looking to do with my transtion to fantasy? also are there trays or modifications i can do so i dont have to goto from a circular base to a square everytime i play either 40k or WHFB? and finally what are the major differences between the 2 armies as i transition back and forth?

It's possible that there are movement trays that have circular holes with the right spacing to equal what the square bases would be. You'd definitely need to get it right- the base sizes and dimensions mean a lot more in fantasy than they do in 40k.
I'll try some search-fu and see what I find...

I know they make circular bases that have a slot for the square base to fit into, not sure about the other way around.

What I did was to put magnets on the bottom of all my (round) bases, and get metal movement trays for most models. The few models left that needed individual square bases just needed a circular hole of the correct size cut into the square base, and a piece of metal glued to the bottom of the base. (Not that the hole is necessary. You could just mount the round base on top of the square base.) The only mini that didn't fit this scheme was the Lord of Change, who I put on a medium-sized round base and cut out holes from both round and square bases of appropriate size.
It's a bit of work, but it's actually not too bad. And it's nice to not have to worry too much about your guys falling off their movement trays.
Small tip, if you're planning on using this method: I used very small rare earth magnets. Two each on any of the smaller models is enough, and if you attach them to the base so that one has magnetic north facing up, and the other has it facing down, both close to the middle but at least a couple of millimeters apart, you get a nice attraction to the metal without the models' magnets pulling or pushing at each other on the tabletop.

Does your group care too much about how they rank up? I know that Games Workshop has round-based movement trays from the Lord of the Rings line. See if those work for you! Also, for singletons, just have a decorative square base you can set the large circular ones into.
