i want to play a high inish army in cc and quick. Coming from playing orks I like what eldar and nids have , fleet, mc's and cc / some shootie. Can some one post some army tactics of either. And can someone tel me of nids are another hord type amy? Thanks

I love tyranids, but if I had Orks id get Eldar. Tyranids are a horde army for the most part...just with some MCs thrown in.

depends, eldar are more shooty but nids' do great in CC in CC nids will always win but eldar can mow down with their shuriken catapults before the nids get close enough than charge the remainder their main gun is assault

BTW Eldar, not so many (think they're even more expensive than SM) but NIDS ARE MANY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY MANY very much a horde army

So if your looking for an army with tactics choose eldar but with nids you just run for the enemy pretty much

and by the way i think your avatar has a little something in it's eye

from what I know of nids you can go swarm but from what Ive heard most people with nids go carifex swarm

you have to admit though Trygon/Mawlocs SR's are pretty epic Ehhh?

Like I said, I love Tyranids. Probably my favourite army to actually play with Eldar being #2. However, whether you Tervigon Spam or not, youre still going to need a ton of models to stand a chance.

Being a ork player also I would not want another hoard / cc army.

I would go Eldar. I play Orks as well and although I LOVE my orks...it would be nice to have an army geared towards shooting. Not to mention Orks>Nids

The new Nid Codex is ridiculously good in CC. Eldar on the other hand are mostly shooting and psychic powers while a couple units are meant for CC. If you want shootie, go Eldar. If you want CC, go Nids. Simple as that.

depends, eldar are more shooty but nids' do great in CC in CC nids will always win

five gold riiings! four farseers, three units of scorpions, two harlies units, and a dispersed shot from a Fire Prism! nids are pathetic when it comes to long range. i chose eldar because there was a variety, and a choice.

You can go mech with tanks and MCs, have plenty of infantry, or a combination. You're also not limited to purple and white when it comes to painting. everybody's happy! come on, choose the elves!!!

oh, and nids don't have jetbikes or any vehicles. for nids, quick isn't really an option. As long as you concentrate on adding any additional wargear for each model when putting together your army list, you should be fine.

I would choose tyranids as thier alot more fun to play, fast, good in combat and have a newer codex than the eldar.

Uhh Gargoyles? Shrikes? Sky Slashers? Harpies? Winged Tyrants?

As for being quick, in addition to all of the above, drop pods, fleet, beasts, special rules (ex hormagaunts), onslaught, outflanking, infiltrating, deepstriking, etc.? This all makes for very few safe places to go.

I dont think youve played Tyranids...

sorry i went a bit over the top there, but jump infantry units are still not that quick anyways i suppose. Back to topic.

changed! That's tired me for you peoples lol! Oh, and no i never have played nids (except in Space Hulk), but i do know a fair bit about all of the 40K armies anyways.

Went with Eldar, Nids are mean no doubt, but not interested in another horde type army. Little more options it seems with Eldar regardless of their older codex, love some of the models and now I can shoot something and hit ! Thanks for the help and comments, only hard part now is telling my good friend I'm also playing Eldar, he being a long time Eldar player it'll be . . .weird.

Ask him for some help with tactics then, good luck with your eldar army though, welcome to the enlightened .
