Trying to get ideas for my power weapons, what's everyones favourite way of doing power weapons?

It's not something that I'm great at so I want to know: What works for you? furthermore, how do you do them?

Just share your opinions, show off a little, show some pictures, but ofcourse anythings fine.

I make gold, sometimes grey, and usually add a little purple, red or black blood to the edge and point. WH40K is a violent game, and there needs to be at least some blood...

Of the ways I've painted power weapons, the lightning arcs are probably my favorite. I wrote a write up on painting lightning effects, if you're interested.

You can use the same technique with Orange instead of Blue and you get a sort of lava cracks effect.

This question is asked too frequently, imho paint it whatever way you imagine a power weapon to look like

Yeah, this gets asked at least monthly. There really should be a sticky about it.

I paint mine overlapping shades of blue and then, after spray-sealing, add a few additional coats of clear fingernail polish. It makes them look sort of like light sabres.
