I have been reading the Khador entries in the back of Prime MkII, and I'm considering this for my starter 15 pt list. Yes, it's sort of spammy, but it seems like the sort of personal guard that the Butcher would pick for himself.

Butcher

2 Berserkers

Doom Reavers unit.

I would keep the Doom Reavers close to the Butcher as a personal guard and just let the Berserkers do what they do. Since the Berserkers don't require focus to run or charge, they can at least fight without any attention, while the Butcher uses his focus for blasting at the enemy with Obliteration. Then, when the moment is just right, I will let off Blood Frenzy and Full Throttle at the same time to end the game in an orgy of carnage. At least I hope so.

My personal experience(i fight against Butcher a lot)

He packs enough punch to go toe to toe with any heavy. Seriously, he's 1 hit ko'd some of my warbeasts more times then i want to know. Kodiak and beast 09 work well with him, they have have boilers so free running for them.

Also, bersekers so far, have been very underwhelming in my experiencem, I don't know if this is because they are playing them wrong, or that I am playing my legion right against them, but they don't do jack gak to me.

Yeah, after I read some more of their rules, I think I might go with Iron Fangs instead. Their shield wall ability would give them some real durability.

you know butcher is mediumbased?? That means small bases do not block sight to him. He can be picked of at range and the shieldwall would not come into play...

The shieldwall can also work in your disadvantage as they are slow to go up the field and butcher probably wants some more speed...

My advice would be take some democorps. They block line of sight. alternatively I have seen Shocktroopers hold up very well in shieldwall after the first turn run to get into range...

All this is my experience and knowledge, so YMMV

Good idea. They have multiple damage points as well, so they would be as durable as a more numerous unit. I forgot that the Butcher is so big.

With Full Throttle the Berserkers' run-for-free ability isn't being utilized, so I'd say why even bring berzerkers at that point. For 2 more points you could have juggernauts with far greater survivability and higher P&S.

Then I'd drop the Reavers for a Manhunter + Dragoon Drakhun. This would keep heavy melee hitters in the list but also give you some flexibility.

It would also take out some of the numbers in the list. I think the reavers can do more damage... (although they may have a harder time getting there. That is what terrain is for though...

MoWST are extremely slow compared to iron fangs. Give the iron fangs the UA and the are in the middle of the board and in shield wall on turn 1 and if you trail the banner behind the unit, butcher can still put iron flesh on the to make them 16/18.

Butcher is hard to screen but he has a very high armor which is why you like beast and kodiaks with him to run without taking his focus. Full throttle is a wasted spell unless you have 3 jacks or more. Keep him screened by jacks or better gorman and he'll not have much to worry about.
