The ancient standing stones of Phallusopolis were once again the site of horrific carnage.

Two objectives end up in or near the center of the table and the remaining three are placed near (12" away) corners in area terrain. The orks deploy first. The battlewagons go in the center of the line and the two loota squads are place in area terrain on each flank. Snikrot goes into ambush, Simple jack and the grots go in reserve, and both koptas outflank.


In the center of his deployment zone the tyranid commander deploys the swarmlord with the tyranid prime. The trygon prime is just to the right of the swarmlord. Behind these monstrosities is the tervigon. The hive guard units flank this central force, while on the nid left flank a unit of termagaunts holds an objective. The nid right flank consists of the large unit of hormagaunts and a unit of termagaunts holding an objective.

The Nids seize the initiative!

Turn 1
Nids
The swarmlord and trygon prime move up the center, entering the cluster of the great purple standing stones. The tervigon produces 11 termagaunts but is rendered sterile in the process. On the nid right the large squad of hormagaunts moves forward after receiving FNP. On the nid left the hive guard move up to shoot at the loota squad securing the ork flank.

In the shooting phase a unit of hive guard kill four lootas. The other unit of hive guard pings a battlewagon. The lootas make their LD check.

orks
The ork commander decides he must avoid the swarmlord/nid prime for now. All three battlewagons shift to the ork left. The shooting phase sees the loota on the ork right fail to wound the trygon prime. The lootas on the ork left kill only four hormagaunts.



Turn 2


Nids
The zoanthrope spore arrives. It lands without incident to the right of the ork battlewagons. Both units of genestealers also arrive on the ork left flank. This portion of the table is objective heavy and the nid commander is pleased with the result.


The swarmlord/prime and trygon prime continue their march amongst the purple standing stones. The large squad of hormagaunts moves up 6" and in the shooting phase they roll a 6" for their fleet--this puts them into assault range against the loota squad on the ork left! The zoeanthropes blast the nearest battlewagon but the KFF saves two penetrating hits. A unit of hive guard glane a BW but another kff save is made. The second unit of hive guard kill three more lootas on the ork right but they stay on the table.

The assault phase commences with the large hormagaunt squad multi-charging a BW and the loota squad on the ork left.


The genestealers also try to assault the loota but they come up just short with their DT roll:



Twelve gaunts hit the lootas and thirteen strike the BW. The latter group rolls spectacularly and immobilizes the BW as well as destroying its big shoota. The other gaunts kill eight lootas and the remaining loota manages to kill two gaunts before routing off the table.

Orks
Simple Jack arrives from reserves but no one else. In the movement phase a BW tank shocks the trygon prime and inflict a wound. Unfortunately for the ork commander the tank shock forces the prime to his right which makes an assault against the thing almost impossible. The boyz inside the wagon decide to stay put and hope that the swarmlord and primes only wreck their ride next turn.



The other two battlewagons (one of which is immobilzed) disgorge their boyz. Ghaz is on the immobilized battlewagon and he decides to stay put until he sees what happens with the swarmlord and primes in the center. Nevertheless two squads of boyz will be assaulting gaunt units on the ork left flank. In the shooting phase simple jack roasts the stealer squad--only the broodlord remains and he takes a wound. The immobilized battlewagon fails to repair.


The ork assault phase is busy. Simple jack needs a good roll to get into the broodlord and pulls off a 5. Yeaaaaa! Good job simple jack! Jelly donut for you!



The two boyz squads hit gaunt units in cover. The large hormagaunt squad does well but the orks manage to win combat by 1. 11 boyz and the nob remain stuck in with 14 hormagaunts.
The other assault is much easier and the boyz massacre 10 termagaunts.


Meanwhile the broodlord fails to damage simple jack. The mighty dredd shows no mercy and kills the broodlord to death!

Turn 3


Nids
The trygon prime and the swarmlord move to assault the wagon in the center of the table. The remaining genestealers move to assault the boyz squad which so recently massacred the termagaunts. Good shooting from the hive guard explodes the wagon in the center. The boyz are then whittled down by shooting from the other give guard. The spore pod kills the two lootas on the ork right flank (a bad game for the lootas--a total of 4 hormagaunts is all they killed). The zoanthropes use their blast attack on the boyz squad on the ork left and kill a goodly number. In the assault phase the swarmlord and trygon prime easily wipe the boyz. However, both roll poorly for consolidation. In an unexpected result, the genestealers assault a squad of boyz through cover and are wiped before they can swing!

Orks

No snikrot, no grots! 1 kopta comes in on the ork right and prepares to shoot the trygon prime.
Ghaz gets out of his immobilized battlewagon and heads towards the swarmlord. The kopta misses with its rocket against the trygon. The ork boyz in the center left of the table move to assault the trygon prime while the other remaining mob (all 5 after being blasted by the zthropes) moves to hold an objective. Ghaz declares his might waagh and assaults the swarmlord. He whethers a horrific amount of attacks from the trynard prime, swarmlord, and guard and takes two wounds. He strikes back against the tyranid prime and kills the beast easily and thus wins combat by one wound. The boyz assault goes well enough. The trygon prime is reduced to a wound at the cost of four boyz.

Turn 4


Nids
The zoanthorpes move towards the immobilized battlewagon. They explode it easily in the shooting phase. The remaining termagaunt squadon the nid right flank get furious charge moves to join the boyz/trygon prime assault. This assault goes well, they kill the remaining boyz and big mek before the boyz can finish off the trygon. Round 2 of the Ghaz/Swarmlord fight is a push. Ghaz makes all his saves and the guard make their invulnerable saves.

Orks
The remaing kopta, grots, and snikrot arrive. The kopta turbo-boosts and hopes to stay alive long enough to contest. The grots come on to secure the objective on the ork left thus freeing the severely reduced boyz squad to assault the termagaunt unit that just killed the big mek's squad. Snikrot comes on the nid left flank where a unit of 10 termagaunts had been serenely holding an objective. The remaining battlewagon tanks shocks the wounded trygon prime. It attempts a death or glory and fails. The shooting phase is nonexistant. The assault phase sees a kopta and small boyz squad hit a unit of termagaunts. They win combat but do not wipe the gaunts. Snikrot rolls poorly for his DT and failed to reach the termagants in his corner. Ghaz, now devoid, of his 2+ invulnerable save, falls easily to the swarmlord--at least he took the tyranid prime with him.

Turn 5

Nids
The swarmlord moves to assault the last battlewagon. He explodes it with ease. The zoanthropes move closer to the grots and blast five of them in the shooting phase. The termagaunts facing snikrot kill 1 kommando with shooting attacks. The hive guard move closer to the grots but are still out of range although one unit does destroy simple jack (booo!)

Orks
A deff kopta turbo-boosts to contest the objective being held by the sterile trygon. The kommandos move to assault the pesty unit of termagaunts. They wipe the termagaunts with ease. On the other side of the table a kopta and boyz squad wipe the remaining termagaunts.

The game ends with the orks holding 1 objective and contesting the objective held by the tervigon. Victory for Ghaz.

Guard do not have Invul saves. Only thing I saw, Otherwise Great batrep!

Actually it was the swarmlord who made the invuln saves and yes those are jusr regular rollas

You need a unit of 25 rocket boys. Form a battle line and "sling-shot" them into the enemy.
