Simply get the Sorcerer Lord, then get the following magic item (along with any other ones you want), Spell Familiar (+1 spell from your lore).
Also, get the upgrade to level 4, but do not take a mark. Choose fire as your lore, and since you have 4 levels, you get 4 spells, since you get one more spell, 5 spells.
Due to changes to book of secrets, this just got nerfed.
you, GW! YOU MAKE EXPLOIT/WHATEVER NO WORK!!!

Now this is really old.

Actually, you might want to take a look at the Warriors FAQ on the Book of Secrets. Makes it seem like something you *don't* want on your sorcerer lord.

Page 115 – Book of Secrets, second paragraph
Change to “Treat the bearer as a Level 1 Wizard, who may use the Lore of Fire, Lore of Shadow or Lore of Death. He may not attempt to channel. If he ever casts a spell with irresistible force he must roll D6+1 rather than 2D6 on the Miscast table.”

and

Q. If a Sorcerer or Sorcerer Lord purchases the Book of Secrets, do they become a Level 1 Wizard who knows a single spell, as described for the magic item? (p115)
A. Yes.

“It was in lands of the Chi-An where she finally ran him to ground. There she kissed him deeply as he lay dying, and so stole from him his last, agonized breath.

On a delicate chain at her throat, she keeps it with her to this day.”

Yes, I went through the exact same process thinking about it for lore of death. It would've been a little unfair, anyway, though... now the only way to really be sure about getting a spell would be to take another caster with the same lore.

Plus you would be rolling 5 or less on the Miscast table most of the time (even with the Puppet on another character).

B+ for effort...

We aren't talking about fairies here!
We are talking about REAL MANLY ARMIES!!!

Oh, and I'm just kidding. High elves are pretty cool, but I like WoC a lot more.

I have never gone to battle with my favorite spell (infernal gateway). my lvl 4 sorc of tzeentch rolls 4 dice to generate spells and i have never (in 8th edition thus far) not either rolled a 6 for it outright, or not rolled a duplicate spell witch would allow me to pick my spell anyway.

In case you didnt follow, any doubles when rolling for spells lets you choose a spell instead of roll

Now for the disclaimer, it is late, and i may be entirely wrong about any rules i mention.

Thank you Infamous, I missed that the first time, I love that change it should really allow me a lot more magical choices. . .
