Outflanking

So, Most Chaos players agree on at least one thing: Their Codex is boring. Many other players will agree. The following idea started with a conversation with Shodowbrand yesterday, while watching a half-dozen space wolves mince a gaurd army.

I mentioned that, with the new Juggernaught kit coming out, one could probably make an interesting World Eaters army using the Space Wolves Codex (Juggernaught Riders as Thunderwolf Cavalry).

This got me thinking: What other Chaos Legions could you relly go to town with using the alternate loyalist books?

I think that Nightlords could work using the B.A. Book, due to the sheer volume of Jump-packs you can take.

Can anyone else think of any other good counts-as uses?

Alpha Legion using Codex: Space Marines. Scouts could be your cultists, but as i lack the codex myself, im unsure of any other unit's rules which could work with the fluff

...tanks from the 23rd and 48th batallion were flanked by tanks from the enemies' 56th batallion. It was then that General Smedfordshire revealed his secret weapon: a slightly larger tank.

I'm currently using BA codex to represent my EC. I played an assault oriented EC list with very few sonic weapons. Happily, I can use all my models except damonetts and everything is WYSIWYG.

The army even plays correctly in that FC allows us to strike first once again.

See pics of my Orks, Tau, Emperor's Children, Necrons, Space Wolves, and Dark Eldar here:

It would be great if we could just use our actuall codex for our army...

Its almost tortue what GW has done.

Hey guys see all this great interesting rich fluff?? Wouldnt it be great to be able to build an army out of all this stuff??? To ing bad!

But more on topic of the thread. BA are great for night lords. SW are good for khorne. But really all the SM books are better then the CSM book.

Can't you see we have been abandoned? Forget matters of duty and honor to the emperor this is now a matter of pride.

BA could work for Night Lord's

Some of the gear would seem outta place, but only because I read ALL the fluff for the Night Lord's out there. And to the fact not all of them are raptors.

I've sold so many armies. :(

maybe you could use Black templars for Word bearers. They are both very religious. at least The word bearers are.

I could see someone doing a respectable Death Gaurd Army using Blood Angels, due to the incredable amount of FNP that the Angels can get.

I have in the past herded of word berer armys using the templars codex , as notded above.

The biggest indicator someone is a loser is them complaining about 3d printers or piracy.

As has been noted, Space Wolves form a good counterpart for WE. I've noted how I'd do it below, feel free to add to my list:

HQ
Zhufor the Impaler-Logan Grimnar-Allows you to take Wolf Guard as troops, and has the right equipment options.
Ragnar Blackmane-Kharn the Betrayer-Possibly? He seems CC oriented enough.
Wolf Lords-Chaos Lords-Pretty obvious. Thunderwolves are a nice match for Juggernauts.
Wolf Guard Battle leaders-Finally, a return of the 3.5th ed codexes' Chaos Lieutenants!

Elites
Dreadnaughts-pretty obvious.
Lone Wolves-Chosen Champion of Khorne perhaps? Maybe some kind of Possessed Berzerker?

Troops
Wolf Guard-Khorne Berzerkers-with 2 attacks each, a better fit for Khorne Berzerkers than Grey hunters or Blood Claws; You can even have an all Terminator, bike, or Jump-pack army if you want it.

Fast attack
Fenrisan Wolves-Flesh hounds-self explanatry.
Thunderwolf cavalry-BloodCrushers of Khorne-YEAH!!!
Bikes-They're there, but a lower WS means I wouldn't take them in a fluffy force. Thats what the WG are for anyway.

Heavy support
Pretty much as is, with Havocs instead of Long fangs.

Stop making me want to start another army, please stop it. I already have a 1500 point army of Iron Warriors still in their boxes

To be fair I've had these same ideas, and I would absolutely love to run that sort of army. Surprised I haven't seen more armies like it, actually.

We will probably see more when the plastic Jugers come out, making it lighter to carry, and (slightly) less prohibitively expensive.

Ooh, and we can play Iron Warriors as Imperial Guard to get all those Artillery Batteries into play!

Iron warriors could work GREAT as SM, just pop a master of the forge as an HQ, and fit in a metric ton of siege guns and heavy weapons.
