How do you deal with mech lists? Looks like Eldar or Dark Eldar, IG, and even Tau mech would split this list open in a few moments and whittle down your footsloggers at leisure. The IG might be inconvenienced by Snikrot, but the others would be mobile enough not to really bat an eye. My personal reaction is that there's not enough boyz to footslog, and you only have one transport, so I'm not sure where the winning thrust is.
Why do you call it alpha strike? It's more likely to start doing damage turn two as only the deff koptas will really be doing much on turn one.

Guard are laughable? I don't think you're playing the most talented/competitive guard players around then. IG are a quite solid army and nothing to sneeze at.
I'll happily admit that perhaps you've stumbled onto some method that I totally overlook - but I just do not see this list as all that dangerous. I'd love to see a batrep sometime so I can get a feel for your opponent's and also how the list works.
Around here alpha strike is usually note for attacking/assaulting the enemy Turn 1. I can see how this army has at least the ability to get whatever is in the BW into combat by turn two...though I can't figure out how your footsloggers are doing it unless your opponent is setting himself up for it
(In pitched battle deployment you start *at least* 24" from your opponent. On foot your Orks move 6" and run 1-6". For turn two you move 6" run 1-6" and assault 6" via Waaagh.
Your threat radius is 20"-30" with an average of 25" This presumes you can always move in a straight line and never deal with terrain rolls. If everything is always in charge range that suggests your opponent is either advancing on you or has deployed in a manner to invite charges - if he's doing this to squads of 30 boyz and isn't doing it with units that can deal with 30 boyz then your opponent is making a competitive error.

I'm with Thor here. I'm not saying you're not winning, and this list isn't a complete failure, it's all over the place. It's slightly mech, slow moving dreads, infiltrating Snikky, Gazzy, a bigmek, and some burnas... then some harrassing koptas. All decent units on their own, but your list isn't 'alpha strike' Alpha strikes aren't 'turn two' damage lists. In this edition of the game, everyone needs to be doing damage by turn two, even foot sloggers. If you aren't, you're waiting on reserves or you're already dead.
Criticism of your language isn't what I'm here to do, so I'll leave that alone and just say that I think if this list pounces all over everyone you play in the armies that you say you play... you must have some advantage over them outside of the uberness of this list. It's more likely your opponents aren't able to deal with certain elements of your lists, are weaker players, or have disadvantaged lists.

The scary thing to me about your list is you only have 2 scoring units and neither of those units are any good at range. This means on a objective mission you almost have to table your opponent to win.
If your winning with the list, great! I commented on your dread bash list and I'm not hear to bash you. I just have a hard time seeing the list do well in this edition of the game.
I'm assuming that you attach Ghazzy to the kommandos for some back lines sillyness? Again, if it works for you that's awesome but I would imagine that your opponents would learn to deal with it.
How do you deal with long fang and lazorback spam? I would think that the dreads would be popped long before they get close and the BW might even be stalled out.
What keeps you boys alive as they march forward? I noticed you have no KFF and not enough vehicle/walkers to shield them.
Why 5 burnas? Do they ride in the BW? I don't see what else could. You could drop extras on the big mek and some kommandos to buy more burnas. 15 burnas and ghazzy in a BW is a scarry site.
How do you deal with Tyranids? Either a swarm of gaunts or loads of big bugs would give your list a pause. You don't have enough shots/ templates, or boys to hold of a little bug swarm. You also don't have enough big guns to take on the big guys. A tyrant with tyrant guard would carve thru your troops.
What is your counter to BA charging your face? Furious charge and FNP would wipe most of your boys squads.
How do you stand against a gunline IG list? While your koptas may alpha strike 2 tanks (if your opponent left them close enough together to be multi-assaulted) what is you answer for the remaining 10? And if its foot slogging IG, how do you deal with an army that is effective at range and out numbers you?

Unfortunately like you dread list which got bashed using your words so will this. The reason both lists do is because they are not very good and you claim you win all the time and against everything.
Lets have a look:
Where's the Big Mek going? He's got no unit to go with!
Min Burna unit doesn't do a lot. It's weight of wounds they cause from mass templates. You need 15 or 10 of these guys.
Kommandos suck. Reason is because they outflank and do what exactly? They have nothing to do or can do anything besides die.
Boyz are ok but I doubt 6 rokkits from them and then whatever from the Dethkopters deals with mech. You wouldn't get far against dual Land Raiders. Oh, only two troop scoring units as well. Wipe them out, which isn't hard btw because they have no cover and you need to contest objectives to draw.
Deff Dreads are slow and strike last most times too. They aren't helping much but I guess can shield the Boyz in some ways but Killa Kanz would be far more affective.
A single Battlewagon is a easy target.

Way too many pts for 1750pt games. Big Mek--160 (evy arm, SAG, cybork body, Burna)
What is he doing in this list? Standing out in the open, shooting one S7 shot and dying? Elites- 5 Burnas-75
You need 15 for this tactic to work. 15 kommandos incl. snikrot-225
Decent with Ghaz but too many pts for 1750, also need burnas. Troops- 30 boyz-255 (3 rokkits, 29 boys, 1 nob w/ PK, evy arm, bosspole) (X2)
60 boyz on foot? Not even close to enough Fast Attack- Deff koptas-160 (3koptas, 3 twnlnkd rokkits, 1 buzz saw)
Split these, no reason not to. Heavy Support- Deff dread-110 (Ap, GR, S, And extra CC arm) Deff dred-100 (AP, GR, SX2)
Garbage, these add nothing to the list. Battle wagon-145 (DR, RPJ, GR, AP, Lobba)
Boom, insta-targeted. Now your bunas are walking. This list is a hodge-podge of mediocre units with no real synergy.

Meh. I remember when I first started playing and the lists I beat "everyone" with. I really was winning all my games. It doesn't mean he's a poor player or that it's a poor list. Big fish in a small pond does, can, and will happen. He just hasn't had a need to adjust his list because he is dominating his play environment. You usually get better when you lose, not so much when you win, that's just the way humans work.
Kommandos suck. Reason is because they outflank and do what exactly? They have nothing to do or can do anything besides die.
I like Kommandos, they can be very good for helping to keep gunlines "honest" as it were. They're not the end all be all, but they can serve a useful purpose in foot slogging lists.
Boyz are ok but I doubt 6 rokkits from them and then whatever from the Dethkopters deals with mech.
This confuses me too, especially since the Boyz really need to be running most of the time in order to get in close for the assault. I suspect that locally his idea of a mech list is very different from the idea you or I mean when we say mech list. If alpha strike there means hitting turn 2 then I'm betting 'mech list' doesn't mean 10+ vehicles.
Claypool wrote:This list is a hodge-podge of mediocre units with no real synergy.
The lack of synergy is the issue I see with it. I think a lot of the individual units are quite fine, and I see (and have used) them in competitive lists. It's more this specific collection of units at this point range that seems lees then optimal.

@ironicsilence - That's just being rude for no gain. He hasn't claimed to be the greatest player ever, simply that he always wins when playing his friends. If you're looking to help educate him in some of the other lists out there and some ways to improve his own list, that's awesome, but if all you're doing is looking to troll then go to YouTube - that's what it's for.

This. I don't begrudge him winning with a list that I couldn't win with in my environment. I just think he's got an advantage they don't have or they have disadvantages he doesn't. Skill, list, whatever. On a social note, OP needs to realize that some people can't help themselves. Once you say things like 'I do XXX all the time' and 'XXX army is the suxx!' people will descend on you like locusts to prove your seeming arrogance is a mistake.
OP, if you really want to get competitive, instead of putting a list up and telling us all how much you win with it - it'd be awesome to have lists your opponents use and the tactics/battle reports to see how you all play. If you change your lists for the better, it sounds like you'll just keep winning. If you help them make their lists and tactics better, you may just lose. That's where I learned when I started. I didn't learn a thing rolling over sisters of battle and necrons with my DE in 2000, but I did learn a lot when I started playing against speed freaks in the hands of a player that was proven with a list that was proven. I lost repeatedly. I learned, got better, and changed my list to fit my style and unify my army's theme (ie. synergy)

I'm not saying he's a poor player or poor at playing the game. I'm saying his list is poor and probably the people he plays against, like you said fishies and ponds. A good example is I play this Chaos player time to time. I was told he's a "awesome" and "really good" chaos player. In my first game I beat him. I have then beat him another 8 times and I haven't lost yet. My point is my list and my tactics are a lot lot better than the Chaos players, which is possibly the case here, but his list still works. But anyway if he wins his friends great and yeah he will think his army rules because it wins, but his army needs work.
Well gunlines will still take them out due to high number of models and attacks. Kommandos are only single wound and 6+ armour save, bad times.
Boyz are ok but I doubt 6 rokkits from them and then whatever from the Dethkopters deals with mech.

The Boyz don't have to be running. They could lay down salvos or fire power from a distance or pop a transport with rokkits and follow up with a assault. My point was I doubt 6 rokkits plus 3 twin-linked is enough to deal with mech. I agree on his version of mech going on the basis of alpha strike.

Jebus, I didn't realize this was a 2k list. At 2k the hodge-podge is even more nonsensical.
OP, I've read your 'taktiks' and all you say is 'I get massive damage on second turn' and 'this hits at the same time as that' or my favorite, quoting your win/loss record and how awesome your opponents are.
As for the tyranids list you played against, I'm not one to judge them at all as I've very little Nids experience. Saying he's played for 8 years is nice and all. Let's be honest though.. that tells us nothing except he has no excuse to suck except sucking. If he's good and his list is good, then you must be LEET with that list. I'm being honest here, I could not win with your list. Ghazzy/Snikky trick included, I think I would lose.

Correct me if I'm wrong (My nids knowledge is out of date at best) But that nid list is really...not great.
If I had to guess it tries to infiltrate the stealers while everything else sorta just walks toward the enemy, hoping to tie up any shooters with the stealers?
It looks very dependant on getting the first turn, but as I said, I may be completely wrong.
As to the OPs list, again, I'm not super well versed on Orks, but a 2k footslogging list with ~80 models seems like it would be pretty easy to pick apart, it seems very dependant on the opponent not being able to deal with Ghazzy coming from behind

Hey man, I play orks and i wanted to really give you the benefit of the doubt since everyone else is kind of bashing your list. So, I took a nice long look at it and truly, i cant find anything good about it. I hate to say it but it really seems like the ONLY thing you have going for it is Ghazzy with Snik. Most of the time that little trick wont even fly, but for this lets say your aloud to.
You have 1 BW with no KFF Mech. So unless your run your BW around some cover, your not getting a save, not to mention if you don't go turn 1, that BW is dead...period. There is no way anyone would let that thing live passed turn 1. And I dont care what anyone says, its not to hard to take AV 14 down when you focus fire and the tank has no save. Not to mention your 5 burnas are just taking up points. Burnas are amazing and i run them...but in a unit of 15. If that wagon blows up, your burnas will more than likely die from the blast lol.
Now you have an extremely slow army that consists of 2 dreads that are just horrible. Their literally one of the worst Ork pieces you can take, and 60 boyz that yes are awesome but not when your opponent focuses on them.
Now i agree, your Koptas are going to create some nice distractions and kind of be a pain in the ass, and if you get turn one your prob going to pop some armor etc. So in reality, I can see that if you get turn one, this list MIGHT have a chance to cause some hurt...but only because of ghazzy coming in from behind and your koptas...and thats only if you go on turn 1. If your on turn 2, forget this list even existed.
All in all man im really sorry but unless you show us a Battle Report, I cant help you with this one.

Trygon prime
(toxin sacs adrenal glands)
mawloc
(adrenal glands toxin sacs)
the player that had this list has been plying for 8yrs
People do listen, you don't listen to them! Why ask for list feedback and then ignore everyones suggestions? Just pointless and waste of time for everyone.
I can see why you beat that Tyranid list. Got Warriors and Prime geared for c.c but no fleet to get there quickly. Got a Tervigon as a HQ choice when could be troops. Got massive Genestealer units without toxin sacs so they are not geting re-rolls, got 2 small units of Termagants which won't last 5 minutes. Finally a Trygon Prime when there's no need for a Prime with toxin sacs it wounds on 2+ to why would you make it 4+!? . Mawlocs or Trygons should be taken in pairs, not a mismatch of both.
No wonder you're winning games!
If you ask for feedback prepare to have feedback and it sometimes may not be what you want to here. You don't want feedback stop posting here is the easiest thing to do.
