not bad but I'll put the standard Land raider not the crusader one cause nothing is better than a lot of laser firing on the enemy tanks and you don't need the extra seat. the rest is quite good, you didn't wrote the power for the libriarian: in my opinion the "flame thing" Str5 AP3 is a really good choice.

Several things. If you havent put it together yet, go for the redeemer instead. IMO, it is so much better. Flamestorm cannons can stomp anything up to MEQ's. You just cant beat an AP3 Template weapon man. I have a redeemer, and it's great. Hurricane bolters are defensive weapons and all, but you still have to move combat speed to use them. For a redeemer, you could still fire 2 much more powerfull weapons, and in all probability, thats all you need to fire, as the wideness of the LR usually causes problems with firing both sponsons. For the same price of the crusader, you can get a redeemer with a Multi Melta which is the best thing you could do. 10 points for a MM? HELL YEAH.

NO ASSUALT MARINES!!!!!!

I cannot stress this enough. I got them in the battleforce, and tried to use them with basically the exact setup you have. IT DOES NOT WORK. They'll get shot down before you can say "charge". All they do is draw fire, and they cant take much. 5 models go down quick. Not to mention you have to take a morale check after just 3 losses.

Try to convert the storm bolter to a Heavy Flamer on the Dreadnought. It makes it a Million times more versatile, and it helps even more if you could slap it in a Drop Pod.

BTW, the rhino already comes with a storm bolter, you dont need to add 10 points.

You need a Rhino for your other Tac Squad, plain and simple. They wont be able to accomplish anything without it.

Combi weapons are amazing. I just started using them, and the difference they can make is monstrous. If you put combi flamers on your sergeant, you enable yourself to have two flamers for one turn. I literally have wiped out an entire 15 man squad of ork commandos led by Snikrot in one shooting phase because of my entire tactical squad disembarking in rapid fire range and I killed them in one shooting phase. I know it might not seem practical for one use, but I swear on my life it is worth it so much.

It seems you're set on not spending much so this is the jury rig I reccomend.

Drop the Assualt Squad
Make the LRC a LRR, add MM
Attach Librarian to Sarge/ Flamer combat squad of rhino-less Tac Squad, w/ GOI and Null zone (Believe me, two best powers to take, you can check any Libby thread)
Put Combi Flamers/ PF on both Tac Squads
Convert SB to HF on the Dread, put in a Drop Pod
Add Cyclone Missile Launcher to Termies (You can buy them individually at GW for like $3)

If you did that, it would probably cost you around $40 depending on what SM bits you have. I tried to keep it cheap, but I think thats the best you can do with relatively what you have.

Idk about the dread, Fuzzum, with him in the only drop pod he's forced to come in first turn and that screams "suicide unit", and anything that sucides in a marines list is kinda waste of points imho.

What about using the points of the pod to make him an ironclad w/ melta and heavy flamer? Adds a beasty CC counter that can cover the tacs and own face against anything that isn't supa dupa (nob bikers, oh how I hate you) or a buried power claw.

As for the money aspect the ironclad bitz can be bought off ebay for pennys, much cheaper than a drop pod.

Personally I like the Redeemer better than the LRC for Vanilla Marines (in a SW list I think LRC is better because you can take 15 BCs and a WP but I digress). The Dread is good but needs to be in a pod whether he is an Ironclad or not. I also agree that the Rhino for the other squad is a must. Assault squads for Vanilla Marines are pretty lackluster unless you remove the jump packs (again for SW and BA the story is different). If you haven't painted your minis yet try them out as BA, SW, and Vanilla Marines again to see which best fits your play style. Check out Capture and Control: New Player 101: List Building and Synergy it may help you along with some of the other articles on the site.

Sounds pretty good. But the reason I say go normal dread, Freelancer, is because he is really lacking AV firepower in this list, and a Multimelta is really what he needs. And an ironclad would be fine too, but he still would need a drop pod. Otherwise he would be footslogging it across the field to be effective, and you know that an AV13 monster like that is gonna draw pretty much all the AV firepower the enemy's got, and that's not too bad of a plan in of itself, but he needs to be able to have something capable of taking down some vehicles. Agreed, it is somewhat Kamikaze, but it's almost a guaranteed kill on anything short of an enemy land raider.
