what is the newest version of the Eldar Codex?

I looked up on GW's site but it does not tell the actual version on there.

Thought so, but isn't the new rulebook 5th edition?

A new day, a new time zone.

You have noticed that they don't release the codices all at once, yes?

And no. The Eldar codex came out later in 4th, so they're far down the pipelne. There are armies still using 3rd edition codices that need to be done first?

The one GW sells is always the newest version. Whatever store you go to will have the most recent version unless they haven't gotten a new shipment in 6 years or something.

Was told on good source that even though the current eldar dex was released in 4th ed, the book was written with the 5th ed in mind.

Pinch of salt maybe?,

Written with 5th ed. in mind?
Not really.
Eldar have some glaring weaknesses in 5th ed.:
- Low toughness troops.
- Random game length.
- Skimmer nerfing.

The only codex I can really think of being written with 5th in mind was the DA 'dex. Don't let that stop you though, Eldar can still be a pretty darn scary army.

The fact about these un-updated codices still annoys me :(

I think that in the next edition, toughness will be improved, the Guardian (or Gwardian ) save will be lowered to 4+, maybe even 3+, and what i'm sure everybody will be looking forward to, is that the epic (not the game!) minis will be made more epic.

Personally I would love to see those changes but they would be very un-Eldar (and thus annoy me).

Yeah, lets give Eldar infantry T4 and 3+ Save. 'Coz Lord knows that there aren't enough of such armies in 40k.

Mr Vetock, give back my Multi-tracker!
