Ooooo...kay.

Not sure how I feel about this. Cool, but goofy? Totally awesome if only it had a beak? Or a shell? A different paint scheme? Complete fail, except for the sweet bits? Man, I am conflicted.

What faction?

It's a Minion solo, works for everyone. Based on a critter from the Monsternomicon, like a rust monster for magic. Ruleswise, it dispels upkeeps and animi on anything it hits, spell ward, and a command-range psychic vampire effect.

I'm not completely sold on the model itself, although it's remarkably faithful to the concept art, and isn't a bad sculpt on a technical basis. I'll probably withold judgement until I can see it in person, but I'm probably going to buy one or two anyway, as it's pretty much a melee Eiryss for Hordes. :/

Looks like the pose is based on a critter that just woke up and is stretching. Odd pose and odd paint scheme...kinda bleh...Although I think they missed on this model the other stuff they have been releasing lately has been pretty good.

I'm disappointed. I was expecting something less spaztastic.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.

Oh Privateer: You make tentacle-rape monsters unappealing in theory AND in practice, and for that, I'm greatful.

Ive always said warmahordes needed more tentacles. A step in the right direction, regardless of sculpt quality.

I realized what I like least about this miniature. Privateer has been doing it a lot with their latest releases.

It has parts that stick way, way off the base. Baze size, not moving over other bases, getting into melee range-- it all matters in WM/H and having models that lean so far off the bases is just annoying during actual play.

Ummm...I'm looking at the art right now and other than having tentacles on his face it looks nothing like the Thrulg in the MN1. The picture I'm looking at has the thrulg as having normal human proportions, a wide, flat, bald head with large trap muscles, bumps running from the top of the head across the shoulders and down to the middle of his back and a long tail that coulds easily wrap around its body.

I don't know who okay-ed the concept art for this model, but they dropped the ball and let it knock over someone's grand ma.

See that? That thing just stuffed two other things into that bigger thing! What in Morrow's name is going on?"

Yeah, that's just a weird pose for a weird mini.

I don't hate the monster, just the pose.

Do minions work for Warmacine factions too? I'd love to convert that into a more squid-like appearance for the Merc-Pirate force I want to do.

Go to the PP website and look at the 3-D Rotation for Thrullg...he's one of those figures that starts looking better when you can view him from different angles.

Only if they are Mercenaries, as well.

Minions are for Hordes, Mercenaries are for Warmachine.

Some do the Crossover and are both, such as Alten, Pendrake, Orrik, Hallyr, and Cragback.

I am sure this is the "out-of-the-package" pose.

The Thrullg would benefit from some different bends in the tentacles and arms.

I think the model is interesting, but the purple paint job makes the similarities to a Genestealer pop out to me.
The spine and the bent over shape are what key me back to GS.
The Monsternomicon described them as being a green.

Rules-wise, this thing is almost as powerful as Eiryss. Hordes players have been crying forever about how so much in WM hoses them. He is a huge FU to WM only players.

Bam, said the lady!

Doesn't look like it should be too hard to repose. Snip the arms at the elbow and you've got a lot of wiggle room, and the tentacles just need a little bending.
