Hey Folks,
Because I'm not that of a gamer and I'm not registered on some gaming site, I thought I asked Dakka about this.
Which online multiplayer would you prefer and why?
I played Call of Duty with three friends and we had a blast. The newer World at war was downright awful in single player, but I've never played the multiplayer. So would you recommend playing world at war multiplayer instead of the older call of duty 2?
Is the community still active or at least alive that you can get a game going?

I don't know about WaW but MW2 still has a huge community, mostly composed of 13 year olds and xX420sn1p3rXx's. If you like multiplayer CoD I'd go with MW2.

CoD MW2 is a fun game if you can find a game without a hacker in it.

Its getting kinda ridiculous now tbh...

The console version is probably better overall. You might not like the controls but the game is otherwise the same, minus the hacking.

Yes. It gets old fast if you're not playing with friends though imo.

i personally think COD2 has a better multilayer than WAW, i dont know why. There are no killstreaks, no perks and you have set weapons. i also like WAW it think its great, with the .55cal PTRS FTW. MW2 is good but there are so many bad things about it. such as the spawn points and not having dedicated servers on PC (i have many more problems but i wont rant about them here). But for online i say try both and pick the one you like best and are the best at.

frankly, and in my own opinion, BFBC2 is a much better online experience, and it seems that there are far less of the stereotypical people on there that really annoy you and make you want to stop playing.

I enjoyed world at war a lot more than Cod mw 2. In mw 2 every map seemed to turn into deathmatch regardless of the objective and i cant handle all the camping that goes on. On the flipside i hated like 60% of the weapons in world at war. BFBC2 is def better than both of them though especially if you have a few buddies to play with. Load up in the party van and have a good time!

I agree, BFBC2 is better than both and MW2 does turn into TDM on every map and every game type

I'll also tout the BFBC2 line.

As for less hacking on the consoles, there actually is a decent amount, though not quite as ridiculous as the pc.
