I am totally new to this game, I've only played once with a friends models. I am thinking of doing Blood Angels of Space Wolves, everyone seems to say that they are easy for a beginner and fun to boot. So I've been looking over lists and trying to find what models I will need. My question is, Other then specifically named units (example: Death Company or Dante) all Space Marines use the same models right? Like, the thing that differs them is really just a paint job, codex and fluff? There isn't a box I should be looking for that says "10 Man Tactical Squad (Blood Angels)"? If I am understanding, they all share the common units.

A new day, a new time zone.

That's correct. There is nothing stopping you from using the standard kits. Things like Dark Angels and Space Wolves have special kits with chapter specific iconography that you can use to give them an special visual touch, but they're completely optional.

Go get a battle force . Then also buy a Death Company box. So that way you can custom your army from the ground up.

Add a Blood Angels Sanguinary Guard box set use the bodies for officers or squad Sargent's and dam you've got so much spare stuff to add to basic "vanilla" marines that they will bling soooo bad .

If you are undecided on chapter, but know you want to play Marines, I'd play them as the various chapters that you are considering before you paint them. That way you can try each group out before you make that decision. I'm currently playing my DIY chapter currently as Blood Angels, without specific Blood Angel wargear and units like Storm Ravens or Baal Predators.

Probably a good idea if you REALLY have no clue as to which chapter you want to do , that way you can get a feel for each of them before you commit to a single chapter .

Actually space wolves models tend to be a bit different to other marine models because of all the various wolf paraphernalia they carry. Like pelts and tails and beards.

I have a bunch of grey hunters and wolf guard that I stripped for repainting. I don't really have much interest in collecting space wolves... but I'm still going to have to paint them as Space Wolves because the models wouldn't suit being Blood Angels or anything else. For this reason I 'might' advise against Space Wolves. Especially if you are undecided on who you want to play.

If you collect Dark Angels, and next year you decide you want to try Black Templers. Then it's fairly easy to just repaint some models to the new scheme, and they'll look right at home. For models like Librarians and Chaplains it might only involve repainting a shoulder pad.

But I find Space Wolves are always Space Wolves really. If you like Space Wolves then ignore my advice... but otherwise I would avoid.

A painless alternative would be to add ammonia to bleach in a confined space listening to sad songs and reading a C.S. Goto novel.

There's a specific Space Wolves box, but you'd be perfectly well off just using regular Space Marines to represent Grey Hunters. Death Company boxes for Blood Angels can be used to turn a standard tactical squad into really cool Blood Angels looking guys, or Death Company of course.

You sound like you've already got a pretty good idea of how this works. Get to it!
