Does anybody have any experience with the Warhammer World Hobby Camps? I've been looking at the Galleries, and there's some hellacool stuff there. You get to tour the Miniature Halls, meet the Design Team, the 'Eavy Metal Painters; it'd be sick to talk to Phil Dunn and Alessio Cavatore.

Thing is, I'm concerned that the Average Camper is a whiney 12 Year-Old. Can I be proven wrong? Has anybody gone, and if so, can you give me some feedback?

Thanks.

You won't be talking to Alessio. He doesn't work for GW anymore.

And I think that most of the weeks are for ages 12-16 (one is 16+), so your worries are probably right.

The groups are a mix of younger gamers and the odd smattering of 20 year olds and parents. To be honest you don't have to put up with the kids too much because the guys that run the camps are well used to the format now and are capable of keeping everyone focused and occupied. If you do tip in, there is every chance that you might see the likes of phil or the studio team as they often have coffee in Bugmans. As for studio visits, am not sure as I don't pay that much attention, I just know that staff.

It's not for everyone, but it does focus you to get everything done

Alessio doesn't work for them? Where'd he go?

I still think it sounds pretty tempting, as the Groups look to be quite small. I think 12 is the maximum. I reckon there might be a whiny kid or two, but there would also be others who were generally better to talk to and share the experience with.
