Subject: Two Apocalypse Datasheets, One Marneus Calgar?

So I noticed in the Apocalypse Reload book there is a Datasheet for Marneus Calgar, two or more Honor Guard Squads with the possibility of taking landraiders aswell. Now this is a very nice datasheet because, to my knowledge (I dont have the book on hand currently), it confers a feel no pain and ignore crew shaken for anyone in the datasheet.
Now I already have the Masters of Chapter datasheet running in my apocalypse battles. My question is do I have to field a new Chapter Master in place of Marneus calgar if I want to take this datasheet? Or can I keep Marneus Calgar for both datasheets as the main chapter master?
Also if I do have to take a different character for my main Chapter Master in my Masters of Chapter datasheet, like for example Tu'Shan, would it be alittle more kosher to field some salamanders next to my ultra marines aswell?

Named special characters are unique, so only one of them may be taken in an army. However, rules are more relaxed in apocalyse so if you ask your opponent they mey let you. Personally I wouldn't suggest it because it doesnt make much sense for there to be two calgars on the field.

If we were to play each other in a tournament, not only would I table you, I would murder you, your family, every woman you ever loved and burn down your house. I mean, what's the point in winning if you allow people that don't take the game seriously to live? |

Well the Codex states that Calgar is unique, so personally, I wouldn't let you use two, but other players' opinions may vary.
Yeah, it would be kosher for Salamanders to do with Ultras. You can use any excuse to explain why they are fighting together.

NO. He's unique, so It would make no sense. Unless you used sicarius for the masters of the chapter or something, since he's pretty cool and could easily function as the chapter master if the situation deserved it.

I think part of the OP's question was could he use 1 Calgar to fill a slot on both of his sheets at the same time. Like a "Y" connnector in electronics.

In which case the answer would be 'no'.
I had thought there was a rule in the Apocalypse book that said that a unit couldn't be a part of more than one formation, but sitting here halfway through my first coffee of the morning, I can't find it.
However, since units in a formation are required to deploy at the same time, you would run into some issues if a unit is a part of two separate formations...

The rule you're after is at the bottom left hand corner of page 101 in bold writing.

This is what I was after. I never suggested using two Marneus Calgars. But thank you for pointing out the rules on page 101. I'll just have to use Tu'shan and possibly field some salamanders. Salamanders are probably the only other codex marines I like, and with all the melta and flamers.
But I do have a question, are there any accepted profiles for special rules for any chapter masters other than Marneus Calgar? Or do they all follow the generic chapter master rules?

They would either follow the generic Master rules, or be substituted for one of the existing Special Characters.
