The combat drugs you put on the Wych Succubus should come here instead, it makes a dramatic difference on the combat functionality of the Lord.
TROOPS
-5 Man raider squad
Splinter cannon
Sybarite with Agoniser
Mounted in a raider
I love Gunboats.
I love assaulting with gunboat squads.
I do not like this.
First off, are you planning this to be a dedicated assault squad? Or is it just a squad that might need to assault something (maybe paired with a combi charge of Wyches/Lord?). If it is to be dedicated for assault purposes then you need more then five men to help give you a numerical press at your high initiative and to help you survive to later rounds of combat. In this case you need five more men and probably should invest in a trophy rack (or really a haemonculous). If the Agoniser is just there to help scare off opponents or to give you the illusion of a chance in h2h combat then you can save 15 points *each squad* by simply buying poison blades and leaving the expensive Agonisers at home. Frankly, if you want them mostly shooting you can save points and not even buy the Sybarite at all, if a five man squad is outside of its Raider it's probably dead anyway.
Also, buy the blaster. Whether you want the squad shooting or assaulting then the blaster is an amazing investment that will help kill heavier armor targets *and* give the squad an option to shoot at transports if needed all for practically peanuts in cost.
-5 Man raider squad
Dark lance
Raider with night shields
I like these.
-10 Man warrior squad
2x Dark lance
I like that you're fielding a lot of troop slots - that's a very mart and proper
DE plan. This is an excellent unit.
-7 Man wych squad with wych weapons
Succubus with Agoniser and combat drugs
Mounted in a raider
As noted earlier, these drugs should come off the Succubus and be put onto the Lord. Will you really be wanting to risk your Succubi by ever taking 2 drugs? Just let her use her squad's drug, she'll be fine.
The Wyches should take Blasters too. Blasters will let them threaten vehicles, which otherwise they couldn't (the more every unit in your army can threaten every type of enemy unit the better off your army will be in any situation). Also, you can use the Wyches as a Gunboat if you don't want/need to disembark. Finally, do the math. Losing out on 2
Str 3 non power weapon swings is not a big deal if you gain two
Str 8
AP 3 swings that happen before combat even starts. Take blasters.
HEAVY SUPPORT
Ravager
I love Ravagers, you can do almost no wrong with them. Considering your sniper boats have N.shields I'd tend to advocate investing in n.shields here. Also, at 1000 points, I might also advise making this a 3 Dissie Ravager, your army needs more anti-horde tech in my opinion.
Overall I see dropping the sybarites as the best way to pay for all the various suggestions I have made. The second best drop would be the nightshields, which are more of a luxury item in my opinion (though many disagree)
I was thinking of dropping the night shields and swapping the S/cannons for blasters so I have enough points to put the Dracon on a reaver jet bike.
A Lord on a RJB is *totally* different then one on foot (first off realize that you would want to upgrade to a Punisher/t.helm combo and drop the Agoniser if you did this). RJB lords are probably a touch less competitive then foot lords, so unless you feel confident in your capabilities I probably would not recommend the switch. I certainly wouldn't give up the S.Cannons as they're about your only tool for dealing with swarming Orks/Nids
Whats the opinions on him going solo or joining the wyches??
I'd join him with one of the Gunboats, honestly. If you put him with your Wyches and your opponent doesn't want to get assaulted he has to destroy one Raider (this is easy to do0
If you put him in a Gunboat then your opponent will now need to destroy two Raiders (this is still sadly easy, but it's twice as difficult as destroying one - which is good)
When the Gunboat gets close have the lord jump out alone and go assault stuff. With the Agoniser you're better at killing big stuff (Tyrannid
MCs, Daemon Princes, et al) but you can still troop hunt as long as you take the right drugs, like =1 attack and re-rolling misses.
