So some viewing this may have seen some of my projects floating around or even my previous project blog that was floating around for some time. Rather then fix the pile of broken links in my old blog I figure I'd start up a new one to keep my motivation going. Projects flow a lot better when you have pressure to complete them lol.
Uaire-Nem (Y'air-Nem) Craftworld (40K)- A small Craftworld able to actually travel through the few known Webway paths large enough for it to fit though. Named after the Swooping Hawk Exarch Neglam and his beautiful consort Uairebhuidhe. The Craftworld became obsessed with the Swooping Hawk aspect due an unbridled urge for vengeance against the great enemy. Jumping from location to location Uaire-Nem keeps it's true location hidden. The Craftworld's forces are commonly mistaken for the Alaitoc Eldar due to a similar ritual color scheme and hit and run tactics. This commonly brings about battles with Imperial Forces and tension between the two Craftworlds.
White is a large part of the Craftworld's color scheme due to it's symbolism of purity of mind keeping the bloody vengeance of the Hawk at bay.
"Gilded Wings" Craftworld Eldar (Battlefleet Gothic) - One of the oldest and most skilled fleets protecting the Uaire-Nem Craftworld, the "Gilded Wings" are often sent out to deal with the lesser races. Known for their superior speed and firepower, mon'keigh should feel honored to see the beautiful hauls of this Craftworld fleet before having they ships evaporated from underneath them.
As I take pictures of what is already completed I will post them here along with a cleaner format of the projects I have already documented. I hope this thread will inspire at least one person to complete a project of their own.
Standing Uaire-Nem Forces:

The wraith lord conversion gives me goosebumps. Well done.
I would of adopted a similar conversion but my hate of the swooping hawks runs deep.
This is just my opinion but I noticed the gold seems "chunky" in some areas. The catapults on the prism's / serpents and the flame throwers on the arms of the wraith lord. It could just be an angle but seems a lil off to me.
Again, Excellent job and masterfully done. Will keep an eye on this blog.

"Definition: 'Love' is making a shot to the knees of a target 120 kilometers away using an Aratech sniper rifle with a tri-light scope. Statement: This definition, I am told, is subject to interpretation. Obviously, love is a matter of odds. Not many meatbags could make such a shot, and fewer would derive love from it. Yet for me, love is knowing your target, putting them in your targeting reticle, and together, achieving a singular purpose, against statistically long odds." ~ HK-47 |

@ Azekio - Hehe yeah it can be a bit rough to find a BFG player sometimes but we have a local league that meets up monthly, so I get at least one game a month in.
@ FP - Won't lie, this is my first and only 40k army and actually the first things I have ever painted in my life. Since starting it has murdered my MMO addiction and I can find myself painting for 10 hours easily when I lose track of time lol. So the gold on something could be a lil think depending on at what point it was painting in my 40k timeline and how much patience I had for the 2-3 coats gold takes lol. Alot of it has to do with angles now that you pointed it out, but I'll update pics with better ones as I take them.
Here is a starting pic of a project I just recently completed to tide things over till I have a bit more time to post.
Eldrad Conversion (nicknamed Eldrina, yeah like Audrina from the hills lmao)
Note: A eldrad mini was infact severely harmed in the making of this conversion.

K found a bit of time to post again.
Project Eldrina - I loath using Eldrad since not only is he dead, but I don't play his Craftworld so I feel a little dirty about it. That being said, he is too powerful not to use in the tournament setting. Therefor I set out to make a hot female farseer that would be a counts as Eldrad and thus make me feel a little better about using him, er her, er.. yeah.
Starting models
Eldrad, GW
Alastriel, Elf Sorceress, Reaper Minis
Step one: chop up Eldrad and Alastriel (not pictured)
Step two: drill out pin holes in the sword and staff. This is the point where I got a tad pissed because my god damn drill broke off in the staff shaft, preventing a clean pin. Then twoo seconds later my drill bit over drilled in the staff head taking a chunk out of it. I threw some miliput/greenstuff mix into the two holes hope to salvage it some, but safe to say it was bed time after that.
Step three: Completed the pinning of the two pieces pinned her to a 25mm base and raised her a bit with some green stuff to make her a lil taller and more "epic".
Step four: Basing compound added and helmet positioned on the base.
Step five: All primed up and starting to paint
Step six through end: Painting
Finished project
Afterthoughts, I wasn't happy with how the runes on the back came out, but they were needed for WYSIWYG. She has a witchblade, staff, ghost helm, runes, pistol can be assumed on back hip, spirit stones, and rune armor (cloak and robes with runes on them would be about the same).

Latest project I'm working on is a 10 man unit of WSYSIWYG Harlequins. Progress is very slow going as harlies are truly incredibly hard to paint up and I'm no pro painter lol. Here is the progress so far though some parts like the back of the arm may get redone since I can't get over the fact that the diamonds are way too large. The first will be done up like a gauntlet as to adjust for the larger hand size.

So just finished up the banshees which I'll add to the first post eventually (slow at updates) along with the rest of the Craftworld that is painted, but thought I'd take the time to toss out my thoughts on the next project. My thought behind this is that if the entire Craftworld became consumed with this lifestyle would it alter the persona of the Avatar of Khaine or even yet what if the statue at the Craftworld's core became modified?
Hence, the Avatar of the Hawk.
Now this may turn out looking totally slowed or cool, who knows. If it fails epically I'm out $20 in models
Planning phase, here is all the pieces that I'll be using for now, but shotgunning it so we'll see where it goes
Here is the basic layout of what I'm thinking. The left arm will be a talon in a dynamic pose across the body, Wings out overhead coming from the back...
... and the head will be replaced with the bird head of the griffon, with possibly the fin wings reattached to the sides.
Ther will be some green stuffing and what not to blend the talon arm in with the armored theme of the avatar and the head will need a lot of work as well. Overall I think I can pull it off...

Is it odd that I noticed that your Eldrina has a fair bit of side-butt exposure going on?
Oddness or no, I really like your work. The painting is wonderful and the conversions are wicked. Excited to see this Avatar conversion.
Out $20 in models!? The Avatar is like $45 here. Boo-urns.

Thanks a bunch, and yeah Eldrina has quite the nice arse going on. Safe to say she gets a lot of staring lol.
The avatar I got off Ebay for $12 and the Griffon was out of my IoB set and usually sells off easily for like $10.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Ok did a temp glue together just to get an idea what I'm working with, so yes this is not even close to finished lol.
As you can see the neck will be cut down about half to take away from the big bird syndrome, Wings will be better positioned, I'll have to toy with the sword and talon postion, lots of metal grinding, and lots of greenstuffing ahead. These pics tell me though that what I'm aiming for is possible...
lol only like 2.5 hours in so ridiculously WIP, despite the pics

Trimmin the neck down until you can get the head facing forwards will improve it a lot, I think.

Heh yeah as I put up there that was just a proof of concept glue together last night, it is already disessembled again. The neck I'm thinking is going to be trimmed down to about the reins which should give it a small neck with a forward facing beak. I didn't want to trim it down prematurely before I start boring the metal out of the neck location the previous head was at.

I see definite potential. I may have gotten a little too excited after seeing that temp glue test and attempted to sneeze a small portion of my head innards out.
Let the chopping and gsing begin!

The claw looks kinda disproportionate. It looked smaller on the test glue, but perhaps having the sword and wings on took some focus off of the claw.
In some way though, I kinda liked the head when it was longer. Made him look like he was screaming at the sky. Kind of.....
I dont' really know what I'm saying anymore. I should be in bed...
