On a boat, Trying not to die.

I live in a small town, about 45 minutes from Boston, Massachussetts. I used to be able to drive 20 minutes to my local GW in the mall up until a few years ago. In about, say 2007-8ish I go to the mall to see a movie, and my GW has been turned into a Prada store! I now have to drive 1.5 hours to buy stuff from a store that hasn't had anything but tac squads and battle boxes. If anyone else in the Boston area, o anyone at all knows what happened to the NE GW's, please help me!

There's no Games Workshop within 100 miles of Boston apparently, based off of GW's store finder.

There are a couple dozen independent gaming stores/hobby centers though.

It's not that much better for the area around the DFW metroplex. It's about 30 and 45 miles, respectively, for the closest two GW stores here. Independent stores/hobby centers are the only way to go for much of America.

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

They have retreated from New England.
I was quite sad when:

Harvard Square and Natick Mall stores closed.

So yea, it's the independent stores that are around.

There is one in Central Square (Pandimonium)
There's one in Malden (Hobby Bunker)

But they are prob. not close enough to you to make it a regular thing...those are the stores off the top of my head.

The last GW store I went to was in Calgary, Alberta Canada............dude.

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

Interestingly, GW has a ton of stores in the Seattle area, and were getting ready to open new ones (at least they were when I was living there a couple of years ago). Off the top of my head, I can count a half-dozen GW stores, including the Bunker, within an hour drive.

Rumor had it they were trying to run PP out of their own back yard...

As a Boston-area Warham, it saddens me that there's no GW store to game at. You can still play/buy things at the Compleat Strategist on Commonwealth Ave or Pandemonium in Cambridge though.

Oh yea, Complete Strat... I went there once.
I like their stock, but gaming seemed pretty tight, or is there more gaming space elsewhere there?

Maybe we should get a game in, a fellow Dakka-er
