Had a couple questions about the Ravenwing Attack Squadron from the DA codex. Since the squad of bikes (if upgraded to 6 bikers) can add a landspeeder to the squad, this creates what I believe a very unique unit that raises a few questions with me:

1. Can the unit still be moved with Lash of Submission? My impression would be no, due to the ruling on kharne being lashed (He's immune, squad moves with slowest unit).

2. How would wound allocation work? Obviously the landspeeder can't take wounds, so is it basically invulnerable until it's the only unit remaining in the squad?


Also a very minor ork question:

1. Can the Nob in a Boyz squad upgrade his slugga to a big shoota like any boy? As long as all the regular conditions are met, so he could be armed with PK and a Big shoota? The entry says "For every 10 Orks in the mob, one Ork may upgrade his shoota or slugga to a big shoota/rokkit launcha for -X points"

First of all, while bought as part of the squad, the Landspeeder becomes a separate unit on the table, as does the attack bike if you buy one. That pretty much takes care of your DA questions.

So, lemme get this straight. You buy it with the squad...but it doesn't have to stay in coherency and isn't part of the squad? Not trying to discredit you, but where did this information come from? I know they become separate if the squad is split into combat squads. So when not in combat squads, they're still separate entities?

Exactly. It's a separate unit that is in the same Force Org slot, just like my IG can have over 20 UNITS in a single platoon in a Troops force org slot.

You don't have the option to split the Speeder and Attack bike off. They always form separate units.

Ah. Okay. I can understand that happening for the speeder...but why the attack bike? Not disagreeing with anyone, just a little confused.

Any answer for the ork part?

Yes, the nob can upgrade to a big shoota.

because the rule on pg 27 says so?

I believe the reason he is confused is because of the normal SM combat squads rule.

To explain it its enough to point out that these rules where written before the current SM codex and as such wheren't created with the same eddition and/or intentions in mind.
