Apologies if there is already a thread like this... I couldn't see one.
Anyway, what do you think of the new Daemon models? My white dwarf just came through my letterbox today, so it's all very new and exciting!
-----------------------------------
What I think:
New Bloodcrushers:
Just as good as the old metal ones, which are awesomely awesome. Lucky for me as I'm a Khorne player! I'll probably get 9 or something silly like that.
New Seekers:
Very nice, very Slaanesh-ey. The nod to the classic models is great, as it the detail.
New Daemon Prince:
Hmm. I like it, but I don't think it's brilliant, simply because there is no subtlety to it. I understand Khorne doesn't go into the subtlety department, but it's important if I were themeing one to Tzeentch. My main issue with them is that they look overblown and slightly cartoonish. I like them, but I preferred the proportions of the old ones.
New Pink Horrors:
Oh dear. I really really don't like these. To my mind they look like a cross between Orks, Gretchin, and Genestealers. Gone is the chaotic non-humanoid shape. Instead IMHO they look almost like a joke.
The Changeling:
Very nicely modelled, manages to be eyecatching and small at the same time, which is nice, also provides a good challenge for freehand fans.
Fateweaver:
Excellent detail, but somehow doesn't catch my eye as much as it could. The pose is a bit boring, and the model has a squareness about it.
-----------------------------------
All in all, in my opinion, a good update (apart from the horrors, which I think are... well, horrible!)
What do you reckon?

The new Daemon Prince looks rather impressive, but i'm annoyed because i just finished assembling one of the old metal ones....

...tanks from the 23rd and 48th batallion were flanked by tanks from the enemies' 56th batallion. It was then that General Smedfordshire revealed his secret weapon: a slightly larger tank.

I really like the Daemon Prince, I really didn't want to use a Space Marine prince for my Tzeentch/Slaanesh Chaos Daemons force (the power armor looks silly to me), and now I don't have to.
I don't like the Horrors as much as the old ones, and even though you could discern a humanoid shape from the old ones, these new ones are much more obviously humanoid, and that's not very Tzeentch. Still buying them, though... if I'm so inclined, I may alter them a bit with some GS and Tzeentch them up a bit.
I don't like the Seekers or Juggernaut. They don't look like cavalry. The old ones did. Look at a horseman sometime, then look at the riders on those, and you'll see how horribly fake they look. When you're sitting on a horse (or a sex-anteater, or a big metal rhino) you're going to bow your legs to grip the form of the steed in order to allow yourself to post as you ride. This is what causes bowed legs in lifelong riders. That Daemonette's gonna have a broken ass-bone by the end of the day.
I like the Changeling. A lot. Angular, yet it flows... very chaotic, very mysterious, very Tzeentch.
I wasn't aware the Bloodletters were new. Fancy that. Don't play Khorne anyway.
As for the Fateweaver, I have no opinion.

The new horrors do look awful.
And on that note, I much preferred the old Bloodletters they were more muscly and Khornate.

"Let the galaxy burn and all those shenanigans." said Horus one day. He was a lovely fellow. |

Damnit, I thought the fateweaver and changeling were the same thing
The changling looks good, the fateweaver looks like every other greater daemon of tzeentch though.
If I hadn't spent my money today, I would have saved it for a plastic prince. It looks good.

The plastic Demon Prince is a great set by the look of it. Combine it with spawn parts and you've got a lot of scope for conversions.

Ooh yes, hadn't thought of the spawn-coversion options.
To be honest the prince has grown on me since I saw it... still think the chest is a bit too wide though.

Except no one buys spawn and their too expensive for what they are? It's a good idea, but unrealistic, IMO.

I'm pretty sure he's talking about buying spawn boxes for the spawn parts to spruce up your DP. Not to make spawn.
