Both Crimson and Imperial Fists use the Fist as their Icon. The Imperial Fists have theirs in black while the Crimson Fists have theirs in Crimson.

Not specifically. It was just a cool bit of art that fit on the cover.

I thought there was a Scenario in Rogue Trader about the battle on Rynns World, a story still talked about in the Fluff of the current Codex: Space Marines revolving around the Crimson Fists

There was, you are correct about that. It was called "The Battle at the Farm", where Cantor and his men hide out in an abandoned farm to avoid Ork patrols. I'm sure that the background is much different now.

seriously? well, the games were fought with only handful of models so they had to make them small scale encounters, right? RIGHT!?

anyway, that's a far cry from the massive Ork hoard that decimated thier Chapter and the assistance from the Legion of the Damned and stuff...

After the emperor became a comatose astromech, the leader of the Ultramarines looked around and saw that there needed to be a set of rules since popa smurf was disabled.
And since the Ultramarines were Papa smurf's favorites and everyone does what papa smurf says, everyone had to do what the Ultramarines said. So the Ultramarine dude wrote a book of rules and said that you all have to follow it.

Most of the other marines said "STFU, NOOB!", which made the Ultramarine cry. Then he showed pictures to some of the other marines of them with their penises out at a party with just boys, and some of them said that he might be on to something with the rules.

Those that went to Tijiuana instead of the penis party still said 'LOL! OMG! WTF? NOOB!", so the Ultramarined dude wrote in the book that they had to do what he said or they wouldn't get any christmas presents. Most of the rest said "Fine, GOSH!" and joined.

But then the Ultramarine saw that the Imperial Fists had more people go to their BBQ's and Prom dances and said it wasn't fair, so he wrote it down that they could only have 1000 marines, in stead of 3000. The Imperial Fists said that more marines meant more chicks, and that really pissed off the Ultramarine dude because he had to take his cousin to the Prom. So he told all of the other marines that he would tear up the pictures of the penis party if they beat up the Imperial fists for him.

So, the Imperial Fists said "Fine! Gosh!" and split into 3 groups. The frat boys stayed as the Imperial fists. The jocks formed the Crimson Fists. The anger management support group formed the Black Templars. Because the Ultramarine dude didn't want to have his kids beat up all of the time, he asked the Black Templars to leave and not come back. They said "STFU, NOOB!" and then lead a moshpit with some GWAR LPs! But then the Ultramarine dude started talking out of the side of his mouth in an Ork voice "Neener, neener! Orks are flying in space! The Templars are pussies!" and the Templars left earth and never came back.

And so, the Imperial Fists became the Imperial Fists, Crimson Fists, and Black Templars.

There was also the Soul Drinkers, but they fell to Chaos and we don't talk about them.

That bit's still in the fluff, but it gets less than a paragraph now. I think it's all of two sentences. It's in Pedro Kantor's fluff in the nillamarine codex, I believe.

Hey, interesting question. There's Pedro Kantor, striking a kickass pose, top middlish, wearing a beakie helmet.

But these days Mister Kantor is striking a very similar pose, but has a grille helmet. What gives, yo?

A Space Marine Chapter Master's armor is usually pieced together from revered bits of armor with great history on the battlefield. Why didn't he just keep his kickass beakie armor? Is there something in the fluff about this, or did GW just decide he didn't look awesome enough and retcon his ass?

Columbus, Oh

In the Rynn's World book, there is a set-peice battle at a farm, and from what I recall it is "faithful" to that original scenario..

Nice homage there..

I've always been more amused that the crimson fists are blue.

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

But look at the picture - they have Crimson Fists.

Though guards may sleep and ships may lay at anchor, our foes know full well that big guns never tire.

No, see, that's a good thing. They're both Blue Marines and Red Marines at the same time. They're just as pissed off as the Red Marines, but they've got the discipline and manufactured awesome of the Blue Marines.

They're obviously the best.

Crimson Fists are about the one of few chapters I have any respect for. Still never understood the theme constant with marines and just standing on mounds of their dead firing in the distance as enemies just mowed them down, not the tactical strike idea they are pictured to be.

Everyone feels sorry for them 'cos they were cheated out of their rightful place by the Smurfs. I mean, in that book, Smurfs weren' even a first founding chapter, and Leman Russ was born in M36!
