Yeah, so this is my first purchase towards imperial guard *woot* and I don't know how to assemble them. Should I go for the bare minimums, (veteran with chainsword and laspistol, the rest with just lasguns) or should I bother with some of the other things? It's a good kit, it comes with double special weapons, so I could if I wanted too.

Anyway, what do you recommend? What's a standard combination of stuff to put on them? They'res no power sword on the sprue, but I'd use it if there was.

Oh, when I opened this thread I thought you were gonna ask, like, "Should I put their arms where their legs should be," and since that'd be an absolute abomination against nature, I'd vote yes, yes you should.

I'd say, chip in the extra 10 bucks for Melta guns. But only because I'm to use to facing all Mech.

*sighs* I guess people hate using Infantry against our Potential 9 Leman Russ's, up to 9 Valks and Vendettas and massive firing power.

Oh, and get a codex, maybe?

I've been working out my army lists out of print outs for now. I'll buy the codex next time I've got enough money. I really don't even want to take meltaguns on my infantry squads. That's too many points...for something as boring as swarm infantry. If anything, I'd use flamers.

Buy a command squad first. They have all the nuts and bolts, including plastic special weapons. They have a ton of special weapons and power weapons, Luckily i bought a battleforce, so I got all this stuff, Command squads are efinatly the way to go for power weapons and special weapons and stuff, buy them.

You also need to work out your army list. For example, if you want to run platoons, than only one flamer a squad. Vets can handle up to three.

Sorry, I was under the assumption that you were running Vet's. Meltaguns are ONLY 10 points though, and unless your planing on fielding Vendetta's and/or A lot of tanks, You'll be extremely limited on Anti tank. Which is a lot of what you'll be running into, I reckon.
