Most obviously, you need some Rhinos for the CSMs.

Past that, the current "best" choices in the codex are obliterators, berzerkers, plague marines, and daemon princes. Maybe a Defiler if you love walkers.

Iron Warriors - 4000 points (non-inflated, full FOC)
Black Crusade - 1500 points (non-inflated, led by Abaddon)
Jenen Ironclads (traitor IG/ABG) - 4000 points (non-inflated)

i recommend Obliterators. they have manny diffrent range weapons. so they can kill anything from rippers to tanks

Attempts by Company Commanders to call down close-ranged artillery fire can result in disastrous casualties amongst the Imperial Guard. Whilst the loss of life is regrettable, the waste of ammunition is INTOLERABLE!

Rhinos but past that whatever you feel like building your army around.

I dont really thing oblits are a "must have". They have just devloped a un deserved rep for being amazing when that is not always the case.

I have never seen oblits doing anything our other heavys cant do if not better. The only thing they have is being able to DP in and do the same trick that suicide termi squads can do.

Not to say they are terrible but they are not the be all end all heavy support option.

Can't you see we have been abandoned? Forget matters of duty and honor to the emperor this is now a matter of pride.

you have a point there, they are good but not epic

As a 15 year vet let me start with, "Good choice!" You need rhinos (baskets for your eggs), oblits, berzerkers (though Khorne annoys me personally), a defiler wouldn't hurt, more oblits, make a havoc/chosen squad with lots of melta to use in one of your rhinos, 1000 Sons and Plaguies don't suck either. Load up on troops, but make sure you don't go too short on firepower. That is a common mistake for chaos armies.

40K pronunciation guide. Abaddon = [uh - BAD -done], Belial = [bee - LEEL] (I promise), and chimera = [KY - murr - uh]

First: You don't seem to have an HQ choice? Are you intending to play this army? For HQ I suggest: Daemon Prince (as mentioned before) or Chaos Lord. Special characters can be fun, but I don't think you should center your army on them (for fluff purposes) unless it's an already existing group that follows that special character. Also, a Chaos Lord is pretty easily made from standard chaos bits, just with some creative posing, basing or greenstuff.

For the rest of it, pretty much everything else suggested above. Rhinos, Berzerkers, Plague Marines (I need to get myself some for that matter...), a Land Raider, and a Defiler. Pretty much in that order, I suggest, except the first three could be switched around. But don't forget an HQ choice if you intend to play!

I use Abbadon and he makes up his points almost every game. 275pts is a lot, but I stick him in a land raider with 8 berzerkers and it's quite the nasty combo.

Having used most of the Chaos heavy support choices, I can say with some certainty you are dead wrong about the value of obliterators. Compared to other heavy support choices, excepting Defilers, their slight premium in points cost is far outweighed by their flexibility and toughness. There is a reason people promote them so heavily - they are, in fact, that good.

I suggest going for the more 'chaosy' options.

Cults, Defiler, Oblits... along those lines.

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.
