Does anyone know of a citadel wash that works well on black? Painting black armor but want the crevasse to show up well. the only other idea I have is going over the crevasses with a gray color and a toothpick.

You can't distinguish the gaps with a wash if you are using black armour.
Black is the absence of all other colour so you won't be able to see the black line in the gaps between the armour plates.
The best thing you can do instead of using a pure black to paint your armour is use a very very Dark Grey and then use badab black to wash into the joins.

I'll just go over the gaps with a gray then. painting a dark gray doesn't look like what I'm wanting. any ideas on a good color for the high lite.

Marines? Just paint the upper ridges of the joints a dark grey and leave the recesses black. Orkhide shade is a really good dark-grey that looks good as black armour. You can then wash it with badab to show the recesses.
Derp. Charadon grey is the color, sorry.

Orkhide gray? I've never heard of that one I'll have to check it out, I'm trying to figure out a quick way to paint all of these raven guard so I can start playing them. Getting a SM battle force Sunday then another one at the end of the month ( FLGS has a points program next month that gets doubled so around 2 battle boxes gets me a predator tank or Assault terminators for 10 bucks!)

Agreed. Armies in pure black or white just dont work IMO. If you go a very dark gray you can at-least make shadows and still highlight. The army will still be dark enough to be considered "black". It will also help with taking photos of your army. The human eye is a funny thing.

You can use gloss to bring out details on an all black model, although they won't look very good in lower light conditions.

The USS Orinoco was a Federation Danube-class runabout that was in service with Starfleet in the late 24th century, attached to Deep Space 9. It was outfitted with a sensor pod.
